Favorite Manga-Ka

Who is your Favorite Manga-Ka?

For me it's a tie between Jungi Ito and Kaori Yuki

I can't say he's my favorite just yet, because I haven't read enough of his stuff, but Mohiro Kitoh has a very good chance of becoming my favorite.

Kitoh is the author/artist of Narutaru and Bokurano and some short stories. I haven't read Bokurano yet, but after reading Narutaru, I completely fell in love with him, and I've been reading some of his short stories. He incorporates a lot of philosophy into his manga, but he doesn't hit you in the face with any ideas. He presents them, tells a story, lets things happen, and you think about what it all means. It's wonderful.

Also, his stuff isn't "kid-friendly" in the least, so he's able to explore things in an adult way, using violence and nudity in ways that will entertain you, but without using them just to get a rise. It's all there for a reason.

It's pretty much a tie between Kiyohiko Azuma and Jin Kobayashi. Not just because I like their works (= their girls.) the most, but I like their style and sense of humour.

Not a manga-ka, but Juder, because I love his art style. Here's an example:

Oku Hiroya, everything I've read, I've liked. Even the ones that got canceled.

Oh! Great is a fave, my favorite newcomer is Komi Naoshi, Double Arts remains one of the best in my opinion.

Why am I getting the feeling that not everyone here is on the same page? I'm assuming since this is in the General Discussion for anime/manga, we'd be talking about mangakas of manga, not the mangakas of h-material.

Ken Akamatsu - the creator of Love Hina and Negima. Because of him and Love Hina, I was converted to the world of manga/anime, and for that he has my special thanks.

And I don't regret it.

It's definitely Hirohiko Araki for me. There's also Yoshihiro Togashi and Kaoru Mori.

I probably forgot one I really like since I'm typing this from the top of my head but yeah those are awesome Manga-ka.

Oh!Great is a favourite manga-ka among many readers, which could be partly attributed to the beautiful female characters that he draws. At times, some of his scenarios can be rather dark.

Some of my other favourite manga-ka include:
-Hiroyuki Tamakoshi. His works include Boys Be and Gacha Gacha.
-Shouji Sato, sometimes known as Inazuma. Works include Highschool of the Dead.
-Shinobu Inokuma. Works include Salad Days and School of Watery Business, if I am not wrong.

I am sure there are many others, but these few manga-ka are the ones who came to mind upon reading the thread.

I can't believe I forgot a legend! Tied with Kitoh for my favorite mangaka is Nobuyuki Fukumoto, the man known for ZAWA ZAWA and crazy noses! Author of Akagi and Kaiji and other great series!

I forgot about him because I haven't read anything by him recently or seen anything adapted from one of his works recently. The scanlation community really neglects Fukumoto. I swear, one of those days, I'm going to learn Japanese just so I can translate the chapters of Akagi that pick up where the manga stops.

Oh! Great. I love his art and his stories are usually pretty good. Tenjho Tenge surpsied me a bit with all the mature matters included in the story. A nice surprise. I really wasn't expecting much at first.

Also, he has a kickass name and you can't argue with that.
