Well, technically, anime is just the Japanese term for animation, and it is used (in Japan) to refer to American cartoons as well.* [/devil's advocate]
As for my favorites...hmm, in no particular order:
Code Geass (+R2)
Gurren Lagann
Samurai X Trust and Betrayal/Rurouni Kenshin Tsuiokuhen
Ouran High School Host Club
Cowboy Bebop
There's probably more, but those were the ones that I came up with off the top of my head.
*Having said that, it's probably less confusing on an English language website to use the generally accepted English language meaning, which simply refers to Japanese animation.

Currently, its still The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
I cant get over how much i loved that.

Well, I love mostly all anime in general but if I had to choose just one I'd say have to say it's dragonball Z with bleach coming in second.

Favorite anime? Thats a tough one... I'd have to say Gundam 00 for action and suzumiya haruhi for a close second.

Higurashi No Naku Koroni and its second season Higurashi No Naku Koroni Kai, as you really can't talk about one without the other:D And for those not knowing it from the japanese title, its english one is "When They Cry". I can't wait for "Higurashi No Naku Koroni Rei" that's coming next year!
