Cowboy Bebop. I started watching anime because of Ranma 1/2 and Samurai X reruns on AXN, but didn't start getting into anime before I saw Cowboy Bebop.
Bebop was a ground breaking series in my book. It had the action and look of an anime, but the dark and serious feel of a nior film. It had the futuristic appeal similar to that of Gundam series of the past, as well the flair and confidence of classic Westerns. It was truly a masterpiece. The gradual character development, the amazing sound track, the detailed animation, and the perfect mix of comedy, romance, and action. But probably the best part was that they kept the series 26 episodes long, 27 counting the movie. They kept it tasteful and were smart in delivering their end product, they knew they didn’t need to have 100+ episodes and a live-action remake. Class. I know i just made you jizz in your make believe pants. No not you, they guy with the 3DS behind you.
Anyway, whatever I say about the series will not do justice, to what truly was an amazing piece of work. But I will try to encapsulate the essence of the series through my interpretation of its last couple episodes.. which perhaps will be coming soon.
So if you havent watched this series, give it a watch through.
