.hack series

I've seen all of .hack//sign and working through the games.
Apparently .hack//sign is the prologue of the .hack//infection game series (4 total)

Then there's .hack//roots which is apparently to prologue of the .hack//G.U. game series.

I'm really behind on my .hack games, and just getting to the .hack//mutation - if I started watching .hack//roots, would it ruin anything for me or would I even understand it?

sign>games>roots>G.U.

not at all, //roots doesn't spoil a thing, it take place i believe a year after the events of the games but it never references anything in particular besides the phases (Skeith, Magus, Innus, etc)

its a pretty decent anime, but around the second of the season they start mopping which really becomes quite annoying but if you're a fan of the series , im sure you can stomach through it ^__^

personally, i LOVE the games with Kite and whatnot and dread the newer roots/GU cuz i LOATH Haseo and Ovan as charaters. Haseo is a powergrabbing Sasuke clone with an attitude that is easily controllable and Ovan i hate his stuck up and how he just controls Haseo to fight in his shadow, + plus not to spoil anything really but he kinda C blocks Haseo which further pisses me off >.<

I love Kite because he fights for whats right but Haseo just fights for a girl that doesn't even like him >.> but i had fun and wish they would release an MMO in the US

Ah, I see. I was just going to watch roots, but when I saw what looked like Kite possessed (I haven't played anything past //infection yet) I thought I should stop.

OOoooh you mean the totally awesome Azure Kite! Im not going to spoil but they did him Uber wrong in my opinion. Rebirth I was like FUCK YEAH!....Then....he was sort of cool...then...WHAT THE FUCK!? THATS TOTAL BULLSHITE GOOD LADS!!! Anyways thats how your reactions should go from rebirth to redemption. I loved Quarantine. It made me feel like a god in the end! Hope you enjoy it too man, I had to hunt for Quarantine for 3 years before I got a hold of it.

Eh, Amazon is your friend. Though they can be pricey. Ffs it was over $100 for just mutation. I got a used copy for $16. I'm just waiting for it in the mail

I can also say that it won't spoil anything. ROOTS is not as good as SIGN, but GU is better than IMOQ (Infection, Mutation, etc.) in just about every way possible.

You guys say that, but I was on the 4-5 episode of roots and they went to the place black rose took kite where the statue of aura was standing in chains inside a church. She was no longer there. Not to mention I heard some players name from infection as well named. ): Maybe I should wait.

Though I do have to admit I kinda do like roots a little more then sign. Maybe because it's more coherent to me. signs was a mystery after a mystery to me.

I'm hoping he doesn't become as horrid as Sasuke though. His attitude and hair style matches though.

Well, if you're hesitant about being spoiled from just seeing the Hulle Granz Cathedral then you should probably wait.

Don't worry though, Haseo can come off as a jerk and anti-social, but I don't think he ever gets as bad as Sasuke.

I too, enjoyed Roots a lot more than sign, and there's a lot more to tie-in between roots and G.U. then there was from sign and infection-quarantine.

I don't think I could enjoy playing the original games after playing G.U. though. The battle system isn't perfect, but it's leaps and bounds better then the first gen games.

i assure you, you will not be spoiled. they mention how there use to be a statue of a girl there but they never specifically say how she dissapeared. the story never makes reference to particular events that happen in the previous games.

after actually having a discusion with my friend, i only really dislike GU is because of Haseo and Ovan. the battle system was cool, totally different from the previous system in infection etc and deep down i can't really admit that the GU battle system was better is because i hate Haseo. i mean i can criticize guarding, the magic inescapable wall that appears then you enter battle, the motorcycle, magic casting and targeting, but it all boils down to im playing Haseo and not Kite =(
but i do liek the fact that i can use skills without going into the menu, just hit a button and i tiger blade or whatever ^-^

but you no what i can argue about? how can a PK put to shame a level 133 PC but when that same PC comes back at level 50 with two other PC's roughly around the same level, its all of a sudden the tables have turned not even a close match, just a blow out of the water slaughter. and this is before the avatars get involed, im talking fighting normally just liek when you were 133
