Still, I'm surprised. I mean, this is so far a good series. Sure, it has some slow moments, but it's still awesome.

I agree. Ippo's fights definitely looked "dull/lousy" compared to this fight alone.
I second that. Ippo's fights have been dull. I thought Date's championship fight was a dull too, since it was pretty much one sided. So, Takamura's championship fight alone was the best of the series. A lot of turnarounds and such. It was "EPIC". The sad thing is I don't think there is going another incredible match such as this one. But, I hope I am wrong about that.

This has got to be the biggest turnaround in any bouts that I've seen recently, and I'm not only talking about this series. In the previous episode, it seemed as if Takamura was going to exit in the worst possible way; who the fuck knew that it was actually gonna be Hawk's funeral?! (only those who have been reading the manga of course)
I gotta give credit to Hawk though. He really did bring out the best in Takamura. He may be a very despicable guy, both in and out of the ring, but he nonetheless WAS a champion.
Btw, I gotta say that I liked it better when Takamura has his hair down. He looked more awesome and fierce while it lasted.
I agree. Hawk did bring the best out of Takamura. He's going to need to be the best because he's now got face the world's best contenders.
And also... Takamura had to win the match with his trademark hairdo. I agree that he looked awesome with his hair down too.
