Story Overview
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai's Story starts in the year 2007. Mamoru Akasaka, with an assistant, visits the abandoned town of Hinamizawa, and meets with Officer Oishi. They still wonder about the Great Hinamizawa Disaster that decimated the town and the connection to Miyo Takano's File No. 34. Rena, now in her thirties, survived the disaster because she was detained at the police station during the incident. She shares with them the little knowledge she has about Rika's strange behavior, shortly before the supposed "gas leak", and Akasaka recalls his meeting with the young Rika as well. Back in June 1983, the club participates in a game of "zombie tag". On their way home, they run into Irie, Tomitake, and Takano, who tell Keiichi about the yearly murders known as "Oyashiro-sama's Curse". However, he understands why his friends hid it from him and doesn't resent them for it. Regardless, this fails to reassure Rika, as she grows progressively depressed as the day of the Watanagashi Festival approaches.

He's probably just surprised that there wasn't a topic on this already (and judging from the master list there really wasn't). It would seem that we just used the topic for season one to discuss the series as a whole.
You obviously put some effort into creating this so I hope it still witnesses some people posting.
I myself liked the fucked-up, far more disturbing and mysterious season 1 a lot more that this.

This was a fun season. Terrible ending but good. I especially enjoyed her (Forget names) twisted past. I think this is the only anime I teared up in... When those people just laughed at her Uncles life work. Made me pissed.
Also about the duplicate threads... Its kinda odd. If you look at the list some animes have multiple threads. Why is it that some get locked and others don't, multiple threads that is?

I always try my best to lock duplicate and repeat threads, so as to provide the original thread starter with the credit s/he is due, but there are times when I may miss out on a couple of them, so I need everyone's help in informing me if they do see one.
As I have never watched the various seasons of Higurashi, I am not sure if this particular topic is a repeat. The title is worded slightly different from those I have seen. Perhaps someone who is a big fan of the Higurashi series can provide some answers before I take any further action?

They are two separate seasons. Just like how Mobile Suit Gundam 00 and the 2nd season have two discussion threads, this shouldn't be closed in my opinion.
Their themes are also completely different, where Kai provides many answers and the original just mostly creates them.
