How has anime affected you?

I've been watching anime for years since I was about five,but I just realized that I do a lot of their mannerisms. For example when I smile I tend to tilt my head and close my eyes and that's just for starters.I found out when my friend asked why.I don't see it as a bad thing,but has anyone else done this or do you do it on purpose? I feel like I'm turning into an anime character .(which isn't a bad thing) [size=12] [/h]

It has not directly affected me, but I do occasionally notice I say things that weird people out, like making comparisons to Anime when something happens. I always embarass myself...

Oh, and I actually went to meetings on anime in my old town, lol. The library had Manga meetings, it was cool.

I honestly doubt it affected the way I act on the outside. Kinda a at-home addiction really. However - considering the vast ocean of time I've spend watching it, there's a high probability that I could have been someone majorly different by now without ever experiencing it. No regrets though.

yeah...i just can't imagine who i'll be if i didnt start this anime craze few years back...but well, i'm ok with my current self...

It caused me to change my art style a long time ago, and I have a tendency to bow slightly instead of nodding or replying verbally.

How has anime affected me? Well for starters the meals I eat, hahaha I would want to eat some ramen or some sushi rather than some McDonalds. In my love life, I take note of some romantic scenarios.....i know it's lame but it has it's uses. Oh and I go gaga when my girlfriend acts cute, yes has anime has influenced me to love the "kawaii factor", because before I found it childish.

Wew, u don`t have any idea what anime affect me (of course. Except u`r an esper). Well, the most noted thing, it helped me overcome the most difficult situation in my life.

same, don't know why but anime has influenced the way I treat others and how I act in front of other people - in a cool way.

Well, It hasn't changed the way I act towards other people ( Or maybe it has, I dunno ) But it has definitely changed me in so many other ways I haven't figured out them all myself

But mostly like Jonoe said: ''The kawaii factor'' and the fact that I sometimes respond with a japanese word ( Wich I guess basicly sounds ridicolous since my japanese sucks ) since I think that some of thier words ''fits'' more into certain situations than others english / swedish words would've done.

this one time i saw this girl, she has glasses black hair a little of an airhead (big breasts as well),well she was walking with her book and she tripped and fell. i was watching and i ran over and started to speak Japanese and didn't even know about it. she looked up at me with tears in her eyes and i kid you not i fell down cause she was so cute. well she did become a friend because of that, she told me.

I started saying random japanese too when I'm talking to my friends but only those simple words... it became a mannerism of mine...

instead of "WHAT" i use "NANI", and stuffs like that...

I learned a boatload of stuff from anime if anything. I don't think that any of my mannerisms or personality has changed because of anime. I do however notice that it's changed my lifestyle dramatically, like more time watching/readin/fapping than on my schoolwork and shit. And it's also changed my interest in art. Occasionally I blurt the Japanese word here and there, but only when I'm by myself and usually when I'm watching anime or something related. Talking Japanese to anyone else would make others think you're weird.

Anime/manga has definitely made me watch less TV and read fewer books.

American TV just seems so bland and tame compared to anime, and American comics and books are the same. You can't turn on the TV and see an engrossing show about a person chasing down a killer, with a story that stretches across several episodes. At best, you get a show where there's a small subplot about a killer on the loose, while the detectives catch other criminals, until the killer gets his own episode. Dammit, I want a show all about a continuing plot, not a series of independent episodes with small bits of info about an overall plot! Plus, I want cool action with giant robots and fighting that isn't aimed at kids and has extreme violence and cussing and deep ideas. And while not all anime is like this, some are. No American shows are.

Also, this is kind of bad, but it's hard for me to read books anymore. I still can, but it's harder than it used to be, because I'm used to reading text around pictures. Still, it doesn't affect me too much, because there are very few decent books that involve the subject matter that I like that aren't on the same level as manga, in terms of sophistication, I suppose. What I mean is, reading books can be a way of being cultured (like reading classics and such), but reading some fantasy book written by a random guy isn't going to make you any more cultured than Naruto or Bleach.
