Hunter x Hunter: Green Island question

Well I was watching the original on Funimation and I got interested in it around ep. 50 but thats besides the point... I finished the series just moments ago and I started Hunter x Hunter: Green Island after. I was just told another of the spiders has died and I'm wondering is this the second season or did I miss something? I don't want to continue to watch incase I'm skipping a season. I tried wiki'ing it but to no avail.

The makeup guy from the Hunter exam said (I am terrible with names) "The bodies... they were fake" and then laughter and it all was over. He said it in a blank screen so all I saw was black. To be more specific the fight between the leader and the zolydek guys was over and the auction was over and kuropica had already put the eyes in?

Yeah there's a season in between that one and G.I. that you've missed.
It starts off right where the last season stopped, with Hisoka sms'ing Kurpika about the fake bodies, and things go from there.

The dark and more down to earth-colors that's used during the Genei Ryodan arc (the one you're watching now) is how it should've been all the way through.

I tried to watch this show once but I literally fell asleep. Is it worth the time investment to watch it or should I just watch other anime?

Sure it starts slow with all that introduction and crap. But its really great. Its also just like Yu-Yu-Hakusho... I think...
