October is finally here, where the new season of anime titles begin their broadcast in Japan.
Hyakko is another title on my watch-list for Autumn 2008, but this is also one of the few times in which I am unable to provide an-depth summary. However, from the promotional/preview video and the official website, I can safely say the plot revolves around 4 schoolgirls, each appearing to have their own unique personality. The two anime titles which came to mind when I think of "4 schoolgirls" are Azumanga Daioh and Lucky Star, prompting me to assume that Hyakko may follow in their footsteps, focusing on the girls' adventures in school, as well as that of their personal lives, with comedy thrown in.
Who else is looking forward to Hyakko? The presence of schoolgirls is one main reason as to why I am tempted to give it a shot. :D
Enough of talk. The following is a promotional video to keep you occupied:
Some fanart(?) of the main characters:
And not forgetting the official website, here it is: http://hyakko.jp/
Will be sure to keep this one in mind, even thought I don't think I'll watch it personally until someone who actually watches it can convience me.
It's really hard to get an idea of these school life stories just from the synopsis.
I haven't watched the sub yet, but from the Raw it didn't really get me. -_- Any one else feel the same way?
Yea, me neither. I wasn't impressed with this anime for what I thought was going to be better action/zaniness. Aya Hirano I think played the wrong character... she shoulda voiced the orange-head, not some shy girl who looks like she's about to wet her panties at any given moment.
You should watch it subbed/translated. Hyakko is really fun to watch, all the episodes I saw were making me laugh a lot. But it somehow stopped on 8 episode. I were looking for the continue, but found out only raws of 9-11 eps. None subbing. :(

but i just saw episode 9 and 10 subbed on veoh
yeah, thats a very recent update. I read that something was going on with mayu-subs that made the rumor that they were going to drop the anime, but then the next day they posted episode 9, and then a few days later, like yesterday, they posted episode 10.
I love this show. Its freakin' hilarious! Cant wait for eps 11-13 to be subbed!
EDIT: Im assuming from the current poll on mayu-subs site that the rumor of them dropping Hyakko was a total hoax and i totally got "trolled."
hmmm slice of life comedy i seeee.........
high school girls without much shred of romance in them but
there are girl that knows the essence of moe hehehehehe
