I just watched the english dub of ol Haruhi and...

I've heard better. It's just that finding well-dubbed anime is extremely rare... :(

There's this fan-dubbing of the anime Clannad that I like though... But if I remember correctly, they're only in it for the fun; they had no intention of dubbing the whole thing...

The Haruhi dub is actually good, though.

I watched some of the dubbed versions before I shifted to the subs, and all I can say is -- the voices fit. Nitpick whatever you like, but it was okay.

The only problem I really have with the dub is that Kyon doesnt sound deppressed enough but besides that it actually doesnt suck too badly.

The dub wasnt that bad, The original of course by far defeats it and the english version can never get the names right. but it was tolerable.

I also liked the Dubbed version,even tho i ussally prefer subs, the only time i would prefer dub over sub is in hardcore comedy anime, like excel saga, because the japanese jokes dont always translate or carry over very well.

if they had only gotten the dubbing a bit better. I gotta admit, their use of words like "pics" or giving proper expression with their sentences is a plus... But somehow, the dubbing has its downsides... And that downside is pretty common in dubs... Take Asahina's expression with saying Suzumiya's name... Wow, i think i got TOO into detail on this one...

True, his voice acting skills need work, but I DID like his statement on 7:40 of the example vid I provided though...

Most of the time, I don't think the English Language is fit for anime. It's a rather cumbersome language to speak, after all.

I like Kyon's voice in the dub to be honest. I just have a small problem with Haruhi's voice. However they did a lot better than I expected.

OH GOD, it's horrible as fuck... it just doesn't inspire ANY feeling at all... and why the fuck does kyon sound like a man in his 30s???

my ears where bleeding the whole time.. thank god it's not as bad as the saikano (she the ultimate weapon) dub

[font=Courier New]Because the voice actor who did him IS probably in his 30s or beyond. I've heard much worse. Still, Wendee Lee isn't quite an English voice I'd think of for Haruhi. I do love the dub Nagato's deadpan "watch it" however. Yeah, I'm not a big fan of dubs, but they have their moments/charms and this is nowhere near the worst the dub pools has ever spewed forth.
