i need suggestions

does anyone have any suggestions on good animes i could watch? like some no one has really heard of before, something underground, or something i would actually have to search for?

I don't know if it's really "underground," because it did get a good bit of attention when it was showing, but it's definitely not a mainstream series.

Also, Kaiji is based on a manga written by Nobuyuki Fukumoto, who also wrote the manga series Akagi, which also has an anime adaptation (which was also subbed by The Triad). Both are excellent series, but Kaiji deals with cool gamles, while Akagi deals solely with mahjong. It's incredibly cool, but it's very in-depth and may bore you. Or it may make you want to learn how to play mahjong.
