Is the end near for online anime/manga?

I usually go to onemanga.com to read well, manga and I find out that due to licensing issues they have decided not to continue posting anymore manga and they deleted it all. Then I go to AnimeSeason.com and find out the anime Chobits is gone. I've also seen that on AnimeSensei that some animes are getting kicked off because of licensing. Lastly I seen the site Mangatoshokan (I never really frequent it though) and again they deleted a lot of manga. These happenings beg the question that will these disappearances of manga and anime continue relentlessly until all of it is gone?

Piracy will never die. The thing about sites like Onemanga is that they're basically middlemen, that make viewing fan-translated works more convenient. As they shut down, all it means is that you'll now have to go to the source. You'll still be getting the same thing, but it'll be slightly less convenient, as it won't be all in one place.

Online viewers are being targeted. It makes me laugh. It will no affect anything except make viewing mangas less convenient.

Just bookmark the scanlators that do your series and then go wild.

These Japanese publisher/mangaka is oblivious to the facts that most of those came from Japan itself.

this has been going on for 5 years and licencing of certain anime/manga has become a serious issue. onemanga is just one of many websites that had to shut down, Viz Manga had a hand in that and also the manga artist themselves cried foul.

as far as anime is concerned only websites that have permission from distribitor are allowed such as Crunchyroll but you must pay a monthly fee to watch the shows which i think isnt to bad.

some websites are contributing the down fall of anime cause of free downloading episodes/series, and view manga that has been translated by fans is hurting the anime industry as a whole. that is why you see alot of companies file for bankrupcy or just shut down like Geneon did a few years ago.

is this the end of anime/manga... it can go both ways but in my opinoin as long as true fans go out and buy then anime will continue.

As long as they make money from it in Japan they'll keep on producing it. Time will tell how many studios/publishers go out of business before the market stabilizes.

As been said before torrents don't care about website either. Maybe there will even be a resurgence of IRC distribution with all these websites going down.

I also used to use onemanga.com to keep up on Bleach, Naruto, and One Piece as well as other series that struck my interest. I found a replacement at http://www.mangashare.com/ at least for the time being.
