I've been very lucky. :o
Not only did I rediscover this forum, but another anime shop has opened within 20 mins drive of where I live....that makes 3 anime shops within 2 mins walking distance from each other :)
One specializes more in DVD box sets and some live action stuff.
The longest established one (owned by a friend of mine) goes more for anime figures / gashapons / art books / model kits (Gundam model kits mainly), and also has a good selection items from classic animes like Voltes V and Gatchaman.
The NEW shop seems to so far be the place to get good, cheap dvd's....especially uncensored, subbed HENTAI. :D So, no more of those horrible US dubbed voices from some can't act, over the hill porn stars that you used to have to put up with if you wanted to see a title uncensored....YAY!!! I just picked up some hentai stuff from there the other day and the quality looks good. They are some older titles Words Worth OVA, Sex Craft and Disipline OVA, but I'm revisiting them because I've never seen them uncensored.
So, am I just very lucky living close to a large Asian population and having 3 anime shops close to home like this?? Or is this the norm where you guys live as well??

The only place I could find in Rhode Island that sold anime figures was Toy Vault. I got a nice collection so far from them.

As far as I know there aren't any shops like that in the state of Kentucky. But I just order all my boxed sets from Amazon.com, DeepdiscountDVD.com, and Walmart.com. Thankfully there are lots of cool annual anime conventions in Kentucky, Ohio, & Tennessee so I get all my other merch from those.
