I've only seen Macross Plus before this, and I already knew thrust vectoring owns the sky, but holy shit...it was amazing. The animation was superb, beautiful, fucking astounding. Even for Plus, I was simply blown away at how 1994 animation could be so fucking awesome, but Macross F is topping it.
The show seems to use CG for a lot of the space battles but unlike most Gonzo production, the CG is actually good and fits. Seriously, go watch it, now.
I totally forgot that the first episode of Macross Frontier aired as part of Macross's 25th anniversary special program a couple of days ago. Macross has and always will be one of my favorite series (sans Macross 7, which wasn't really to my liking).
Finally i have watched the first Episode too and yeah Macross F is really awesome. Im only regretting watching it on my crappy Laptop, need a bigger screen to enjoy it to the fullest.
And oh, what a crappy defenciveline they put up there
After seeing the first episode, I was very impressed with the CG visuals, music (courtesy of Yoko Kanno), and animation quality. I'm still not sold on the characters entirely though. I'll have to watch the entire series to make a definite judgement, but the show is looking very impressive. This first episode reminded me a lot of the first part of Macross: Do You Remember Love (which is an all time anime classic)
Yeah, the first episode is somewhat like the first episode from Macross:Do you rmember love, whre the main character controls an empty Valkrie Fighter, but, what's with the new enemy? It's like a bio-mechanized alien, not like the Zentraedi, who use a mobile suit to fight. Feel sorry for the red VF-25 pilot Hiiro, got killed in the first episode
