First off, "predictability" is different from "cliched". "Predictability" does not imply quality in either direction. Second, the end of Toradora was predictable, but the "process" of Toradora ... not as much.

Minori was given a "chance". Of course you could say that she was never really given a chance, but in that respect, a "chance" is but an illusion formed by the creator. If you think about it that way, it doesn't matter how many people a character dates, because they are all irrelevant once the "True Pairing" is established.
