Just saw the trailer and my interest has been peaked.
The story centers around YÅ«sha (Hero), a fighter in a war that humans and demons have waged for 15 years. The humans have infiltrated the demons' territory, but Hero is separated from his three companions before he enters the castle of MaÅ (Demon Queen).
YÅ«sha confronts MaÅ alone about the destructive war that the demons have imposed on humans. However, MaÅ tells him that the war has created a reason for humans to work together and improved human society overall. She convinces him that humans would fall into a bloody civil war without their battles against the demons. To prevent such a conflict, YÅ«sha decides to join forces with MaÅ.
Turns out they're not using the "Be mine Hero~''I refuse!" artwork. Looking more like Oka no Mukou e's style. They actually look pretty okay, the voice acting is only thing that'll concern the audience that's looking forward to this adaption.
Comparison between the two:
Be mine Hero! I refuse!
Yeah, Kinda disappointed that they didn't use Akira Ishida's art. Might be because it's to detailed to animate? I don't know. At least we know that this is going to be animated.
I don't like the moeshit design... I want Ishida's char design... But pretty sure, animating that drawing style will have it's complications so... Can't be helped...
At least Swordswoman (I forgot, is that her name?)has that fierce look like the manga. Maou is... well, too moe to have a leader aura. And then, what's up with that boob bouncing when close-in? Don't think that was necessary.
I will be following this one with interest, given that the manga is just so much awesome.
Art style though...I will hold my opinion for now. Most of the characters looks pretty decent...except the Maou herself. It's just not Ishida's, and I honestly didn't like any other interpretation of her.
But hey, as long as she keeps her personality, I can swallow that.
Bumping this cause i was gonna make a thread on it then saw it was already made on that masterlist that Yuri posted.
I was reading through a list of the anime that were supposed to premier this winter and this caught my interest because im obsessed with Demon Girls. I went and checked out the manga for it and got hooked almost instantly. Its basically Spice and Wolf except about politics instead of commerce, and with large breasted Demon Queen instead of Horo.
The main characters Hero and Maou(Demon Queen) are voiced by the same people who voiced Kraft Lawerence and Horo from Spice and Wolf and much of the staff who are working on the anime also worked on Spice and Wolf.
Theres a bunch of different manga adaptations of the LN(I read through three of them in one day cause i have no life), Maoyuu Maou Yuusha - 'Kono Watashi no Mono Tonare, Yuusha yo' 'Kotowaru!' is much farther along and recognized as the official adaptation i believe
Relinking the trailer because the one in the original post doesnt work for me .
Anyways, i think its safe to say im really excited for this anime! Just look at that smile! :D
Bumping because the first episode just aired! Finally the anime I've been obsessing over since the moment I learned about it.
Episode 1
Spoiler:
Loved the first episode, i was a bit worried at first that they were going to overdue the ecchi stuff with her pulling her boobs out to show him the mark, but they definitely didn't disappoint me. I've never read the LN, but i have read 3 different manga adaptations, and the first episode definitely seemed to take a little bit from all of them, they had the serious discussions, mixed with some comedy, and some romance/ecchi/epic Maou cuteness. Can't wait for the next episode
so that's the character that sometimes tends to catch my eyes...
Episode 1
Spoiler:
even though i never read the manga or the light Novel, the episode did the Exposition ASAP for total newcomer to the series.
usually by doing that it can taken as too pushing it if i have to say about it.
but for the premise,it's pretty interesting since there's the reasons why the war between Humans and Demons should not be stopped at some point.
even if the studio makes some fanservice,it tends to be quite subtle and not overusing it like in recent moe animes.
although the scene where with Demon King's fantasy was pretty funny.lol.
and the part where she took her horns off were pretty surprising.
somehow the BG and ED artworks reminds me to Spice and Wolf.it's a pretty great anime series to start the 2013 besides Nekomonogatari and i'm looking forward to watch it again.
