Um no, they're not like Wings though the idea seems to be derived from Wing I believe Gundam 00 is a show of its own. If the CB crew are stupid they won't even survive the whole episode won't they? Also, your way of saying stupid is too general... I'm not sure what do you mean by plot armor in the series, and surviving on pure luck? Do you really watch the whole episode of Gundam 00?

Probably he's just guessing based on Spoilers he had seen... Based on pure luck??...lol...Funny yet stupid...DO you remember Kira survived from some inevitable death scenes several times in GS/GSD??...How do you call that??...Based on Pure Awesomeness??...no!!..it's based on pure Stupidity IMO..
and CB is one of the coolest organization ever in Gundam Long History...I think This is the first time we have 4 Main Protagonists in a series if I'm correct...Much better than the lonely Kira in GS....anyway, Gundam 00 indeed succeed in continuing Gundam Series Pawnage....
Actually Gundam Wing's Mecha design are overly glamored that makes me think it sucks IMHO...
anyway again...one thing that made Code Geass Sucks in it's Mecha Department is that Stupid Over-advanced technologies on their mechas (Most notably Lancelot and Guren Final Verson) makes the war dominated only by those very few units...And needless to say that the tech is too absurd to exist in such young age...
