Reminds me of the movie 13th ghosts where they were discussing about the eye of hell. The eye of hell is supposed to allow its controller the ability to see the future. Madara probably wants to have the power of foresight though I don't see how that helps him.
As for Madara popping in on a meeting between the 5 of the strongest ninjas and announcing his plan for everyone to here, this makes for a good story line (note the sarcasm). Seriously, all he is doing now is giving the entire ninja world a reason to unite against him. There better be a good explanation next chapter...
