I think Naruto just needs to overcome his doubts and his resentments to be able to control the kyuubi. If the kyuubi is negative energy, then naruto has to take out his negative feelings for him to pair up wih th kyuubi

Not only from a stance of his general 'Idiot Hero', but it also really does represent him the best I feel. That or The World.
And even if this chapter was more build up then anything, the next chapter will be awesome I think.
