Nyanpire The Animation

So, after 2 years of not producing any anime, Studio Gonzo is set to produce Nyanpire. Based on a popular doujin by "yukiusa," the story follows a black cat who was abandoned and left to starve. However, just before the cat's life was to be extinguished, a vampire emerged from the darkness and gave it blood. Now, "Nyanpire" lives as a seemingly ordinary house cat raised by a human girl.

While it may not be a hit show for us, The Gothic World of Nyanpire is apparently relatively popular in Japan, spawning tons of cute vampire cat merchandise.

It's scheduled to air July 6th, as a part of the Summer 2011 anime season.

Takahiro Yoshimatsu, the character designer for Trigun is both the director and character designer for this series.

Two other upcoming shows are also being produced by Studio Gonzo, which are completely unrelated to vampire cats: Copihan and Last Exile: Ginyoku no Fam

I'll watch a couple of episodes to see what it's like, but I'm going into it doubting.

The episode seemed to drag on but other than that it was an enjoyable first episode~

Kind of weird hearing all these famous voice actors doing a kids show, but it was a quirky little short episode...

Yeah, that's what I thought as well, but it's only a 5 minute ep every week, and is cute, so I'll continue watching. Plus, the ed was very catchy.
