Didn't see a topic for this already so I decided to make one. Does anyone here read the manga? I try to keep as up to date with it as much as possible. I am on Chapter 275 which I believe is either the newest or close to the newest chapter. This is one of my favorite series so I hope to hear others that like it as well

You should. Right now in the manga they are actually doing a lot of fights. You get to see Belldandy and Urd unleash their true powers. They are really frighteningly powerful. Especially Belldandy. She could kick anyone's ass if she wanted

It's made of the very essence of love itself. I've being a fan of it since year 2006, which made me 6 year late off the anime and almost a decade to the original manga. Watching the manga grow was one of the most pleasant things as a fan of the series.

Without a doubt. It's one of the mangas that underwent the most drastic change in artwork. Just look at it!



Belldandy is just B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L. She's the highest peak of perfection. She's the ONE.

I soooo wanted to rep you. But I couldn't. I have been wondering just how much the art on Belldandy has changed since I have read some of the very early chapters. That is a truly epic pic.

I believe Oh! My Goddess is one of the most amazing love stories ever. It is for sure my favorite romance series. The relationship between Keiichi and Belldandy is so endearing I wish I could find a love like that. Besides the relationship between them two there are so many other things I love about it.

I agree with you on saying fuck that rule! Belldandy is so pure and innocent I don't like nor do I support hentai of her. Her beauty needs to remain untainted. If you want to make Oh! My Goddess hentai, well, that's what Urd is for. Unlike Belldandy who is just to pure for me to take advantage of. Urd is already a sultry sexpot. Maybe that's because of her demon blood, But does it matter. She is the perfect contrast for Belldandy.

So damn vanilla, just a small sweet end-season kiss scene from them is like some shock wave gave your heart a thump... So pure love

Fun fact - do you know that it was suggested that Keiichi may have being smoker before he met Belldandy?

I never got a chance to get into this series. I've been meaning to get into it, but could never find anyone else who read it to ask their opinion on it...... judging from your comments it is kickass?

very amazing show in almost every aspect. Wonderful romance story. Some pretty awesome action scenes. A bunch of hot girls. It's got like everything. A must watch/read.

Ah, Oh my Goddess!(or Ah! My Goddess!)?

I've got several tankobons of the series(Licensed by EMA here), but miss several volumes since my local somic store misses about 5 volumes at around #28.

Nevertheless, I bought the newest volume which was... #41(Where Keiichi also shows he's quite useful).

What I always liked was that Fujishima is quite the car/bike lover. His drawings of original cars and bikes are great(Which is also shown in You're Under Arrest! and eX-Driver).

There are some differences though between Manga and Anime. The appearing Ferrari Toshiyuki drives is a 288 GTO in the Manga, but it's an Enzo in the Anime(since the Anime came later, the car model has changed too). Taken from Wikipedia btw, I always think of Magnum's Ferrari...(Although that was a 308 GTB/GTS, the 288 is an special version).

Sayoko for example drives a Mercedes SLR.

Although I still prefer Keiichi's BMW, the sidecar and the Mini they drove together with Chihiro.


But yeah, there's no relationship like the one Keiichi and Belldandy have, special:)

ya the whole thing about him being in the auto club and the talk of cars I think helps to appeal to a larger male audience. I was never much into cars myself so I don't know like anything about them.

as for it being Oh! or Ah! That is a rather heated debate that I have participated in several times. The original Japanese manga says Oh. But when it was moved to America, They translated it as Ah. Making the english anime be called Ah! My Goddess. Even though the original title Oh! My Goddess is supposed to be kind of a play on words with the popular phrase describing shock and amazement Oh my god!

Guess so, we should be sorry for the girls, but Keiichi sometimes shines when he sees an old&beautiful machine;) (Like that old English motorbike).

Isn't it funny that also Belldandy's name was translated back wrongly? The real name from the mythology was "Verdandi" I think(Wikipedia is your friend... not always though).

Although I like the name "Belldandy". It sounds close to the French "belle" and that means "pretty, beautiful". And she really is pretty:)

Dandy's a word too, but I prefer to mention the first part pf heir name more:P

while it is true that Oh! My Goddess is based off of Norse mythology. With the Norse goddess being called Verdandi. I have never heard of a translator using that translation. Although we would have to ask Fujishima what he wanted her name to be to find out for sure
