Whitebeard Finally attacks. This is getting EPIC~

Not much to say about this chapter... I'm looking forward to finding out how WB uses his DF in fights though.

I don't recall ever being this disappointed in Oda. I mean, how the hell did Akainu manage to get a heart to heart talk with a WB squad commander? They were in a fucking battlefield. It should have taken Akainu a few good minutes of conversation to convince Ouzugumo that WB had betrayed them, and I seriously doubt a highly ranked marine, let alone an admiral, could have had a few minutes to spare without a pirate gunning for his head.

Even the marines' plan itself sounded fishy: sending in the pacafistas to purposely attack only none-Whitebeard pirates and hope that they could successfully manage to trick a pirate squad captain that they were betrayed and convince him to help bring down WB. That plan just leaves too much to chance.

Despite my beef with this chapter, I am so looking forward to seeing Whitebeard in action. There is little doubt that Whitebeard will fall in this war, but he will definitely do it with a bang.

I agree, Akainu's words have much more weight than some common marine. However, Akainu is much more likely to deceive. I do not fault Squad for doubting WB. But for him to turn a full 360 in this war on the words of man that has Sengoku's imprint all over it and a promise (to spare Squad and his crew) that is too good to be true is just BS to me. It just seems strange for Squad to run WB through with his sword without first demanding WB to explain himself.

And it wasn't a friendly talk between Akainu and Squad but it might well have been. As I said earlier, it should have taken Akainu a few good minutes to weave a convincing story of lies and deceit and for their conversation to have gone uninterrupted in the middle of a battlefield, everyone might have been enjoying tea.

Did you miss Thriller Bark? Crappiest arc ever.

I would have to disagree I thought thriller bark wasnt half bad. Could of used a little more umph but none the less it was like a 6.5/10 on my scale.


Anyways back to the current chapter, ya the way that whole conversation went down it seemed like the plot was a little rushed. Which is why i think were seeing the manga author taking these week breaks. But other then that i think there might be a good chance whitebeard will last with the help of Luffy or something along those lines ( or so i hope). Cause I do have to agree Whitebeard is a pretty epic pirate. Also i get the sense that this arc is coming to a close, and that hes either :

A. Trying to push onto the reunion of luffy and the crew
B. Start introducing the revolutionary army and the massive confrontation that's to come ( Im thinking that this is going to happen first then A. Will happen as B is going down)

Otherwise looking forward to an epic battle showdown at MarineFord HQ

Thriller was pretty cool. Especially the zombies~ But I didn't like brooke's Stories and such.

I Disliked Thriller becuase Robin got licked and i enjoyed Sanji's ownage for the first time in a while

Thriller Bark suckily suck suck sucked, it made me stop reading OP until that arc was over.
It almost sucked as much as the feminist island-arc

Yeah, but opinions aside, Thriller Bark was consistent within itself and didn't have any non sequitur moments like this thing. You might not have liked the nature of the events or the concept of the arc, but it was technically sound. This recent twist is badly written and feels forced in. It's like reading Bleach. Can you imagine fighting in Afghanistan and in the middle of the battle some Taliban leader comes over to you (somehow) and says "Oh by the way, notice how we're only blowing up the 2nd and 3rd squad rather than your 1st squad? That's because your unit leader has made a deal with the Taliban!" and then you think "Shit, thanks for telling me, dude" and run off and kill your commander?

That very dodgy twist aside, it's definitely heading in the right direction and the absence of the crew is going to make them all seem fresh again when they're reintroduced. It's done in many JPRGs where, after you have the party assembled, they're broken up again so you (a) learn to appreciate their strengths by seeing what it's like without them there and (b) get the whole "absence makes the heart grow fonder" effect.

Because This one i can't wait the next chapter,it must be fun

A well thought post and I do agree with everything you stated. I must admit I am impressed. It was a nice change from those simplistic one liner posts.

That's what commanders do. They sit and watch, give out orders blah blah blah. Make plans then attack. Just like Sengoku. But Sengoku hasn't attack yet......yet.

Seeing as how this commander is "the strongest man in the world" i'd say it would make more sense if he actually was out there helping his "sons" that he"loves so much".
