Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai

I believe fans of the manga "Ore no Imōto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai" have already received news that said title will be adapted into an anime of the same name. However, after browsing through the Anime Specific section, as well as utilising the search function, I have yet to find a thread relating to the anime, so here goes nothing. If this is indeed a repeated thread, do kindly inform me so that I can lock or merge it personally.

For those who don't know what "Ore no Imōto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai" is all about, it focuses on the main protagonist, Kyosuke Kosaka, and his yonger sister, Kirino. The relationship between both siblings have never been close, until one day, when Kyosuke chances upon a DVD case whom he suspects may belong to Kirino. With parents who disapprove of the otaku culture, it is eventually revealed that Kirino is a closet otaku and Kyosuke promises to keep it a secret. Will the relationship between both siblings take a turn for the better?

Yea, when I first heard about the anime adaptation I was most pleased indeed. To say the least I am looking forward to this very much.

I'm definitely looking forward to it. The premise is original and it will be interesting to see a female otaku for a change.

Looking forward to seeing it, although I'm wondering if it builds a romance between the two at all, from the chapters we've gotten so far it looks like the little sister feels at least something for him, or maybe I'm reading too much into things.

Either way I'm looking forward to this.

I don't know whether i should explain things or not, but i do see the sister actually has feelings for him.

Have the novels been translated?

I've only read/seen Ch 1 of the novel translated, if the rest is out I'd also like to know about it as well.

Read up to something like chapter 17 on Korean translation.

Also, Volume 1, chapters 1-3 are translated and up on Baka-tsuki. That's pretty much the same point where the scanlated chapters are up to, so hopefully this will get the translation group's collective ass in gear.

Synopsis:

Kyousuke Kousaka, a normal seventeen-year-old high school student, hasn't gotten along with his younger sister, Kirino, in years. For longer than he can remember, Kirino has ignored his comings and goings and looked at him with spurning eyes. It seemed as if the relationship between Kyousuke and his sister, now fourteen, would continue this way forever.

One day, however, Kyousuke finds a DVD case of a magical girl anime entitled Hoshikuzu Witch Merle (Stardust Witch Merle), which had fallen into the entranceway of his house. To Kyousuke's surprise, inside the case is a hidden adult video game titled Imouto to Koishiyo! (Love with Little Sister!). Kyousuke attempts to fish out the culprit who dropped the case by bringing up the topic of magical girl anime at the family dinner table. All that comes out is a strong negative reaction from his parents, especially his anti-otaku policeman father.

That night, Kirino bursts into Kyousuke's room and, in perhaps the first conversation she has initiated with him in years, says they "have things to talk about." Kirino brings Kyousuke to her room and shows him an extensive collection of moe anime and lolicon bishoujo games she has been collecting in secret.

So who else is excited for this series?! I know I am. I still need to read the manga a bit, but I love the premise of this story.

I'm certainly hyped for this. Even got hooked to the manga when I randomly found it during my search for sibling comedy genres. >.> The otakuness is just so enjoyable.

Hmmmm~ another "the otaku on this one is a girl" show.Well can't judge it right now so let see when its available.

Really looking forward to this, enjoying the manga so far, kinda hoping a small bit of romance builds between the two, although even if it's just them becoming closer as bro and sis it'll be good.

Also the animation looks pretty good and has some strong colours going on, looks pretty nice, anybody know whether this will be a 13 or 26 episodes in total?

Anyway expecting good things from this.

It's really hard to judge an anime if you liked the original manga or light novel it came from. Same goes here.
