Overused things in anime!

So does anyone else here have things they dislike to see in anime?
Whether it be a cliche, setting, character type or even plot device, do tell.

Here is a couple of examples:

The Beach Outing - Mostly found in harem anime, its just a 20minute long fan service episode, which generally doesn't involve any character or story development.

The childhood friend whom wakes the protagonist up every morning - Seriously though, who has one of these? And she just so happens to be cute and have a crush on him too. This character shouts lack of originality in a series.

I have many more, but I will let you guys list off a few more before I start rambling on XD

Well I don't necessarily hate it but here are a few.

Fan service episodes- The characters go to a beach, swimming pool, or hot spring. There is a guy or a group of guys that try to see the girls nude, ultimately they always fail.

Happy Romantic ending- The male lead gets the girl that constantly refuses him (or the other way around, Kanokon) throughout the anime will only end up in a relationship at the end of the series. This will never happen mid-series

Romantic interruption- When the male lead and female get into an intimate moment, they will never finish. Again, only at the end is this successful.

Male lead; virgin or loser - This happens and throughout the season he gains more girls to like him.

Jeez all these just happen in romance and harem anime.

For reals guys.

I hate it when it's extremely cliche, bad, or unoriginal.

I only hate it when they (the makers) combine the cliche "things" in a bad way. I saw pretty good "cliche" animes too, they just rare.

Useless protagonists, the worst thing that can happen to an anime. I don't understand how being a sub par person other than personality would attract a lot of super powered girls to you. And its damn boring when the guy gets his ass saved by the girl.
Useless female lead, I just don't like how there are female leads who are so useless that all they are good for is the bowser peach routine. My cousin agrees with me.
Overly Sensitive girls- Its pretty damn obvious that the male lead isn't a bad person or a pervert, so why must you treat him like so?
Tsundere- its overused to the point of it being a stereotype. Mizuha from G-Senjou no Maou averts this :3
Miscommunication kills- everything something important that needs to be said will end up being dismissed as something unimportant. Romeo, Juliet, and Mercutio died because of that.
Wimpy protagonist- just to emphasize how I hate protagonists who are much more cowardly than normal people.
Ends with the start of the relationship- I'm tired of these journeys that go on just for it to end when the relationship starts, how do we know if they are going to stay together? What happens after they get together?


On the other hand clichéd stuff isn't all that bad. Star Driver is very very cliched but awesome. Sword Art Online has more cliches put together than the number of hits in [Duel Blades: The Eclipse]

There's no such thing as overused.

Why does the main lead always need to sit in the back, next to the window? Someone please tell me.

That only happens in less than 10 animes... not overused.

Like I said, watch more animes, especially for your case, School life animes.

Well Im pretty new to the wide and exciting world of anime but one thing which got me soooooo freakin annoyed was in death note when they replace L with some random adhd kid who plays with a toy fire truck so mine is basically when they kill off a really good character and try to replace him with arather lame one. Like when Kakashi is injured they randomly replace him with Yamato who is lets face it, toally lame in comparisson.

Everything that is "cliche" in anime is what makes anime awesome *__*

5.Keiichi from Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni
6.Yukino from Kare Kano
7.Shizuku from Whisper of the Heart
8.Takuto from Star Driver
9.Ichigo from Bleach (Don't believe me, go watch the first season again)
10.Okazaki from Clannad


And that's ignoring the sub-main characters like Rei from Evangelion and Sakaki from Azumanga Daioh!

The fact is that writers use these convenient devices to make their job easier. Sitting at the back, next to the window can establish a character that is a daydreamer, as well as being able to explain things via internal monologue.
