Piano no Mori ; The Perfect World of Kai
A tranquil story of two young boys from completely different upbringings. On one hand you have Shuhei Amamiya, who lives life by the piano and practices rigorously as the child of a prestigious family of pianists. Then there's Ichinose Kai, who, born as the son of a prostitute in a ravaged district of the town, has been playing the abandoned piano in the forest near his home ever since he was young. Yet it is their common bond with the piano that intertwines their paths in life.
Just wanted to introduce this manga to people. As a person who's interested in instrumental music as well as being a pianist, I stumbled upon this manga.
A lot of this manga deals with individual change and pressures by others and self. There is also an invisible battle of growth occurring between the protagonists although they are best of friends.
The Piano no Mori manga has been adapted to a full length animated movie which shows part of the motive of the manga. Of which has its own unique take of the protagonists' paths, not all of the story (since it's still Ongoing). The movie is named "The Piano Forest"
Hope this piques your interest.
And trust me, there's something for everyone.
Spoiler:
Part of Chapter One in "Piano no Mori"
Unfortunately this manga is not adapted to an anime as of current but for some reason was made into a movie. I recommend reading at least some chapters of the manga before looking into the movie for a better understanding of backgrounds. The video below doesn't really spoil anything, but it gives an example of what you can expect from Piano no Mori's theme of the piano.
