In fiction, some aspects of realism has to get thrown out the window in order to cater to a fantasy or fetish. However, I do believe there needs to be more of a balance with some of the more shallow works. I personally haven't had much trouble finding balance with most vanilla genres. NTR and Rape genres however, weren't meant to have great stories or character development, their sole purpose is to glorify sex, dominance and control. I did encounter some rape/ntr works that started off slow only to build things up as the story went on.
Anyways, when you're reading works based on hentai, the main focus will almost always be the sex. Balancing sex and story in hentai is about as hard as balancing graphics and story in video games.

One word; Escapism. Those sucky plots might not be of any value to you, but to a lot of people half the reason they immerse themselves in those 'shitty' stories is because they can place themselves into that unbelievable situation.

Edit: I read the first chapter of "My adult guardian" and the pacing of the sex scene wasn't that great. I'll continue to read nonetheless since it seems good.
