Realism

Now I know this is an especially touchy subject for many hentai fans out there (however the reason why still escapes me) but I am honestly caught wondering what most people consider 'good story' when they look at hentai manga and doujinshis.

I've often been appalled by the ridiculous plots and developments in certain hentai works to the point where i was not even able to finish up either because the sheer inconsistencies of it either baffled me or actually made me laugh too much. Then to my surprise, i browse the comments to find half of them praising the ridiculous story.

this has not happened only once or twice either? I ask of the fakku community, what is a 'good story' in your opinion? Because its has become evident that our views don't match up.

Now, don't get me wrong, i understand that this is hentai. It's main purpose is to give us things that would never exist in the real world, be they tentacle monsters, or harems of beautiful, lesbian, incestuous futanari women or even just a world where every beautiful woman you meet is a cat in heat ready to do whatever you wish her to do for your pleasure.

however, is the best way to escape reality not to immerse yourself in something incredibly realistic? Is it not much more satisfying to read a story where you brought o think "wow, if only [x factor] was different in [y way] a world like this could really exist!". Again i realize that this is hard to covey with some of he more... extreme cases of hentai, but really it seems like authors aren't even trying any more.

the stories are bland and tasteless. The women in hentai that is projected as a serious work are all whores for the main character for no apparent reason and act in ways completely contrary to their character.

Take, for example NTR which is one of the biggest offenders in this case. A woman is married to her husband for over ten years. she is in a loving and happy relationship and there is no mention of their sex life being in any way unsatisfactory (this last point is slightly less prevalent in NTR as, if there is ANY pot to them it will at least involve this single facet to the story, but the number of stories that lack this are still of an important number), then suddenly one day a man she knows nothing of, be he a creepy neighbor or a pizza delivery man or a shay landlord or whatever, comes in her house while he husband may or may not be away and rapes her without her husband knowing of it.

if there is ANY struggle on the woman's part it is... dismissible to say the least and usually very short lived, within five pages she has nearly stopped protesting or if she is still doing it it is with hearts at the end of her sentences, depicting a very pleased tone. By the end of the chapter she absolutely loved the experience and wishes for it again.

if the series continues with another chapter, the woman is sill with her husband in her happy relationship and yet serves as a cock whore to the other man whenever he beckons her, this being no more than a week after the first time he raped her mind you.

now, for those few of you who enjoy NTR, are you really sold on this story? Does any of this seem at all believable human conduct? The near complete lack of resistance, the willingness to be over powered by sexual desires in an absurdly short amount of time. does something like this really consist of a 'good story' to you?

these few points are true for most other genres of hentai too. Ask yourselves, how often have you found the 'forced' tag to be quite inappropriate on a work considering the actions of the girl throughout the majority of the chapter?

so tell me fakku, where has all the realism in human expression gone from hentai, and is it missed at all by the hentai viewing community?

hmm, well personally I find that the best story is one with unrealistic settings but realistic expressions. The core of what makes a story 'good' and 'realistic' for me is the characters. If the characters, their reactions, their motivations and their stories are realistic and believable then I don't mind (and sometimes even prefer) if there's a totally implausible (in real life) space alien with tentacles raping horny girls.

basically i just wonder why it is that i can't never find a hentai manga whose art and story is as good as something like, say, Kimi no Iru Machi, or even something super ecchi like kissXsis. It;s like the moment sex is explicitly put in the work, then you lose most if not all character depth and involving story line progression (you know, something that goes beyond 'chapter 1 - day one, MC screwed horny girl. chapter 2 - day two, MC screwed horny girl again in a different setting/position or (if it's a harem) chapter 2 - day two MC screwed horny girl #2')

note: if anyone HAS found something that has a story line good and involving enough to be a published 'normal' manga but is also hentai then I would more than gladly accept the names of or links to these hentai works , even more so if they're on this site. The only one I have ever come across myself in all my years of hentai browsing was 'My Adult Guardian'.
