Whatever. I really can't bring myself to get all that offended over the treatment of fictional characters, and when i read a hentai my goal is to get off...which makes me care even less about what happens in it

Strangely enough I completely agree. They are fictional characters. Hell I'll even draw them in undesirable situations just because I want to. Who gives a shit if you are disrespecting the fandom or the character. It doesn't matter because its fake.

Cowboy Bebop
Trigun
Serial Experiments Lain
Outlaw Star
Dennou Coil
ANY Ghibli film
Ghost in the Shell

...seeing hentai of these things is just bizarre to me. ESPECIALLY Lain. It completely baffles me that anyone would want to see Lain in a sexual manner. There are other series too, but I'm not really gonna sit here and make a huge list.

I just can't understand why this would be a problem for anyone. Sure, I'd feel a little guilty fapping over say... Index, because she's pure and all, but I wouldn't outright avoid rule 34 of her.

it depends entirely on context...
if the character's personality is unchanged and the event is something that would likely happen if it wasn't for the fact that the character is from a series that is displayed to the public, then it is generally an ok (the other factor is, of course, the artwork)
this such context can be found in singular images too
