Synopsis from ANN:
"In an underground world where tunnels extend everywhere, even though they live in dark and confined spaces, people wear protective clothes and lead quiet and enjoyable lives. Patema, a princess in her underground village, loves to explore the tunnels. Her favorite place is a "danger zone" that her village prohibits people from entering. Even though she's scolded, Patema's curiosity can't be held back. No one ever explained what the supposed danger was. On her usual trip to the "danger zone," Patema faces unexpected events. When hidden secrets come to light, the story begins to unfold."
From the creator of Eve no Jikan, we get Sakasama no Patema. This is an upcoming movie (according to ANN and MAL). However, I found today the first two episodes of what appears to be a mini-prequel to the movie. These two episodes are titled Sakasama no Patema: Beginning of the Day. They are both 6 minutes long including intro and credits. This mini-prequel was interesting and gave us a taste of the character Patema, as well as a little bit of background information, though not nearly enough for me to guess what the movie will be about.
But all in all I enjoyed those short clips and look forward to the movie.
Ah, so that's why it reminded me of pale cocoon. It does have that director's feel. The two mini prequels were meh, but it does seem to have potential. I'll be looking out for the movie's release then.
Then I'll definitely be watching it. I've liked the other stuff the guy's done as well. (And I'm still hanging on to hope for a 2nd season of Time of Eve).
So do you know if parts of the mini prequels will be in the movie aswell? Because if so I will most likely not watch them and just wait for the movie. The PV piqued my interest and while I would've loved to hear some voices I still feel like it gave me that mystic feel that makes me want to know what'll happen.
I love the concept but I wasn't amazed by the execution of it. It came off as too bland with the villain feeling half ass along with other stuff. But those things never got in the way of my enjoyment of it.
