How does .mkv format sit with your PC?

All the current subbed versions were released in that format.

I've seen it with the Horrible-subs encode and it was really Horrible!
(the encoded video that is) - the subtitle is fine.

All I could really suggest is for you to download a converter, preferably this one... it's free btw. Pretty much could convert mkv into avi.

Oh, I'm fine with mkv, as long as the dimensions aren't too big.

It's good to hear that Saki is being released with decent quality. Pretty much anything is better than Crunchyroll.

I had got the torrent from TokyoTosho. As hermitVI mentioned, I got the ep done by [Shinji].

Am i the only who have no idea what's going in the first episode but still got excited? It just made me want to learn and play mahjong XD

hmm...i understand nothing of mahjong, and while i realized anyone can play whatever they want, i still get the typical underworld image when anyone mentions mahjong. but yeah this anime got me hook despit all those fact, even when i don't understand what's going on with the game.

probably because saki's cute...no. that got to be it. no "probably".

One does not need to understand the rules of mahjong to appreciate the possibly yuri theme and Nodoka's heaving breasts. :D

I would have to say the ending theme is rather cute too. Anonymous on 4chan was complaining when the ending theme was changed in Episode 7.

i not that big a fan of nodoka. i like her, but her breasts kinda turned me off somehow...saki's way better for me. nice attitude, very cute, and just with the right size...yuuki's ok too, but she's too noisy and her way of talking sounds weird. but i do like her excessive taco fetish...she even like any food that have tako part in it...lol.

My one of my favorite Anime......

I watched episode 1 last night. It's very silly but seems like fun. There was also an error in the episode, with someone winning from a hand that isn't a real hand or something like that. Well I only decided to watch it after seeing pictures of Saki posted on /a/, so I'm not complaining.

You have to click on Play and then on サーバに接続, which takes a few seconds to appear. There's a lot more info on it for English speakers here. Once you've got the basics, this is probably the best place to play (other than IRL with friends, of course). Apparently the players aren't that great or anything, so you shouldn't be intimidated.

Ah, 7447. Isn't that some elite room or something? Well my friend, I may have only learnt the rules yesterday (and still be struggling to remember them and learn all the hands) but one day I will surely defeat you.

Is it elite? That would make sense. People do often get huge hands in there.

wow so a lot of people have already been watching saki ive just started getting into this type of mahjong oh and mahjong is not like poker...its like TONGITS in the Philippines

I have never used the above site to play online mahjong, but perhaps we can have a game or two in the near future? I am curious to find out how my mahjong skill compares to that of others around the world.

And getting back to the topic of Saki, I will most probably purchase the manga to see how things turn out. I don't think the anime will be able to cover the storyline all the way to the nationals.

I also wonder if Kyotaro fares well in the male competition.

I just finished this series, and I loved it. Great blend of mahjong and cute-girl relationships. Not too much of one or the other. I really hope a second season comes out, but it will probably be a while because (supposedly) the manga isn't that far from where this season ended.

God, the outfits of Koromo and chain-girl from Ryuumonbuchi were sooo good! I'm usually not one for fanservice, but they were too cute, and their outfits were so revealing. They actually made me feel weird, thinking how I'd react if I saw my daughter walking down the street in a similar outfit. It'd be criminal (literally, because their nipples and panties should have been showing).

Isnt this like Akagi only minus the genius,the explanation of sets(head bumps etc) and replaced with moe girls and fan service.

God i know mahjong maybe a dying tradition there but still to attempt to make it popular this way
