Seinen/Josei manga

When I try to look for new manga I always try Seinen or Josei genres. Seinen/Josei are aimed at more mature readers. They draw me in more than Shounen/Shojo because they're more human. The characters have real issues and react to life's situations so realistically that I find it easy to relate to what they're going through.
One of the best things about these genres is that they aren't filled with that whole cheesy-ass CUTE GIRL IS WANTED BY 2 OF THE HOTTEST GUYS IN SCHOOL or KID LOOKS NORMAL BUT HAS A COOL POWER AND IS FIGHTING ALMOST ALL THE TIME crap.
My most favorite seinen/josei manga are Nodame Cantabile, 20th Century Boys, Usagi Drop, Solanin, Oyasumi Punpun, and March Comes In Like A Lion.
So, how about you?

I don't read Josei at all, can't stand the artwork.
Most of what I read is Seinen, but in all honesty it's just shounen with more aggressive ecchi or the violence is a little less slapstick... or both. Young Animal FTW.
Sekirei, Koibana Onsen, Dance in the Vampire Bund to name a few. I was shocked and amused the first time I saw Yomeiro Choice raw scans which had furigana... I wasn't expecting that one to be "Shounen".

Nodame isn't really seinen nor josei, but still good. (I'd say comedy and light romance. But not a seinen or josei in any way)

Uhh, no. There ARE quite some seinen that are more violent than your average shounen. But that really isn't what distinguishes them apart. It's the content, that's usually more mature/ psychological. If you look at Bleach or whattever, it can be quite graphic too, but that doesn't make it a seinen.
Quick note here, remember Honey&clover? That's a perfect example of what a josei manga is. Unfortunately, there seems to be a small market for these kinds of mangas.
Now onto my favorites:
-Homunculus (all time favorite. It's a seinen. Read it)
-Honey&Clover (josei)
-Koi Kaze (josei. But do try the anime instead of the manga, as the anime is slightly superior)
-Gantz (seinen. So juicy)
-Duds Hunt (delicious seinen one-shot)
-Reset (same as the above)
-GOTH (gory seinen one-shot)
-Lament of the lamb (seinen/josei?)

I like seinen for two reasons: horror and deep thinking.
The appeal of horror is self-evident, but I'll explain what I mean by "deep thinking." Shonen series can't be as convoluted as seinen, because shonen is aimed towards kids and teenagers. But when you're dealing with adults, you're able to be more mature, I guess you could say. Not in a violent sort of way, just in the general approach. You don't have to explain everything every few chapters or shy away from mature subjects, like cold-blooded murder and rape and drugs and whatnot.
In short, I like seinen because it's like R-rated movies. The appeal isn't in the violence or sex, but in the intricate plots and adult situations.
Also, it is very refreshing to have a main character that isn't 15 years old.

Dude, I've read shonen manga more complicated than seinen manga. However, it is obvious that seinen manga is way beyond shonen manga in terms of themes and philosophy. I especially liked the old-school of manga that were seinen for the majority. Josei manga doesn't seem to be as serious as seinen manga, but I could definitely be wrong since I've read very few josei series that I can't even remember anymore.

Just look at all the Seinen stuff listed on MangaUpdates, and you'll see all the horrible stuff you've been unaware of.
