it was when Ed learned he need more power in the whole transmigration thing. form what i remember he needed a stronger circle and the philosopher stone. but not having the stone he decided on a different method of having two circles one on the floor and another on the ceiling also having many sacrifices as a substitute for the philosopher stone. so he had two circles and like 30 inmates to make his brothers body.
It was a little bit more than that. The seven point circle also had giant red vats that contained incomplete stones. so it was however many hundreds or thousands of souls in the vats plus what was in front of him. He was also still not going to make his brother's body but a complete stone. And the equivalent exchange thing is actually kind of tied with physics. You can't create something from nothing. You need an equal part of some base material to create another. Anyone who's been through a high school chemistry class can tell you that. The theory behind the philosopher's stone was that by using all the souls stored in it that you could bypass the requirement of equivalent exchange.
so if i got the stone i can do what ever i want.
but if i dont to bring back someone from the dead i just need one body and one soul overall. and dont tell me the law of alchemy cant bring the dead back or make life. because alchemy in its core can do anything as long if you have the base requirement, no matter how unethical it is.
