it's lacking shana so here's the thread ^^
To the rescue comes a girl named Shana. But is she too late? As it turns out, young Yuji may already be dead. What the heck is going on?
since there're only 12 chapters translated people without the ability to understand japanese only get to read the scans (poor ones -.-)
although there is the anime the manga is different from it and offers some funny scenes (nothing you should miss)
it can be considered like the movie. By adding new scenes the manga is unique and different from the anime and helps you to better understand the story

The manga really is the worst of the different media outlets, which makes SnS unique in being one of the few series where the anime ISN'T worse than the manga. I'd say it's more of a supplement to the anime instead of an alternative. :P

it can't be considered an alternative but still provides some more background information like the movie
but like yuuki said the style and art of the manga is really good ^^
and yeah it seems like the scanlator group dropped the manga so no more translated chapters
