Now the same thing could be applied to video games, awhile back I had conversations with Spalose and Zeriam about Xenosaga; I still haven't made progress or found any inspiration to progress in it.
And recently I've started watching the anime opposed to finishing the game itself.
Kind of hard to do that since the anime only covers episode 1.

This current season makes me wonder if more than half the anime touted by the FAKKU! community is actually worth watching.
I don't think the "Fakku community" has touted much in the way of anime this season. It seems like everyone is just doing their own thing with the only exception being DtB2. Some people may be acting more excited because no one will bother them since everyone knows this particular season isn't spectacular in the least.
On topic, I sometimes lose my motivation to watch things. Just yesterday I watched Clannad's Kyou Arc for the first time and I still have half of After Story to go, yet I'm watching Kodomo no Jikan now instead. Every season there are several anime I had intended on watching, but I just never find the time/effort for them. Also, my motivation works in strange ways. First example, I finished FF12 with 70+ hours even though I didn't like it at all (fuck you ADBS). Second example, I finished Index running on only Mikoto and Kaori since it was full of shounen speeches and garbage plot. Also, I get my full of romcoms like Akane-Iro, Nagasarete, Kanokon, To-Love-Ru, etc., etc. so how I haven't finished After Story is a complete mystery to me.
I dropped Metroid Prime for a few months after getting my first Game Over screen. I finished Knights in the Nightmare first despite having Riviera and Yggdra Union for at least a year before that. I haven't beaten Tales of Phantasia (SNES) yet despite being at the final dungeon for the past year. My ability to motivate myself works in freakishly odd ways.
