So I just started watching Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann...

...and I am SEVERELY PISSED at the Anon fansubbing group for the half-assed job they've done with the subtitles. Episode 5 is missing them completely and six and seven only show half of every sentence that doesn't fit on the screen. I'm getting the sense that this is going to be a pattern for episodes 8-16, as I'm currently working with a torrent that pieces the whole series together from several different fansubbing groups.

Aside from that though, it's a really good show so far. Did Kamina show up in SaiGAR last year?

He's a shoo-in. Unless I'm getting the rules mixed up with Saimoe, the only characters who can compete are those who star in anime from the previous year, and without Guts and Archer around, Kamina's virtually guaranteed the top spot. I mean, who else has been nominated? Subaru Nakajima? Hiraga Saito?


If the rest of the series is as good as the first four episodes, it's TTGL, all the way.

I was really surprised to see Gainax's name show up in the opening credits, but now that I think about it, Simon's like Shinji Ikari with a bit more spine and a lot less angst. Good thing Yoko's not like Asuka.

I think what Gainax did when coming up with Yoko was gather the unpleasant qualities of Asuka and Rei to which they completely reversed.

Saito didn't make it past the first round.
And Kamina will be up against Hosaka. Both are possibly the manliest characters of 2007/08. There not in the same bracket, byt they both made it past the first round.

This show is so epic. I couldn't stop watching.

Anon is just one person but she teamed with Bullet Speed Subs and now the entire series is complete.

Just picked up a combo of Black-Order and BSS-Anon. I'm up to episode 22 now and I have but one thing to say:

Arc-Gurren-Lagann. Holy shit.

Holy crap, that's a good series.

This was almost a disgrace to TTGL. Your lucky I have a sense of humor, but anyways I loved TTGL. Its definitely one of my most favorite animes.
