Episode 8 of the new broadcast in Chronological Order. Haruhi has returned.

Those who read the novels will know exactly what's happening. It would seem that the new episodes will mix in with the old ones in chronological order, finally completing the unbroken run-through of the first few novels.

This clearly explains the future scenes of the original OP and ED. Oh yeah, there's a new ED too.

It's actually episode 8. 14 episodes from the first season are part of this new season as well.

I really want subs from a group that actually has a comprehension of the situation...them labeling this as episode 1 already fails.

Followed the novel which is always something that makes me happy.

I was very glad they chose that particular event for their first episode of the new season. It always was some of my favourites.

Especially the amazing conversation between young Haruhi and Kyon where she asks him all about time travelers, espers, etc.

I think I'm getting hooked to this anime... again... it was awesome nonetheless. never knew haruhi was sooo cute in her middle shcool days, liked the long hair...

Now that I've actually finished the episode, my thoughts:

Great way to start off the new episodes. Stayed true to the Novel, kept things interesting. Overall I might reconsider this back in my #1 Fave Anime if we get more eps of this quality or higher.

Oh god ur gonna start with that, you know i was explaining this to a friend and its a perfect example right now,
For anyone that saw "the 14 episodes" aired back then, and now see's "Haruhi episode 8" will disregard it if he has no prior knowledge, and he doesn't cuz he's not a big fan (and don't give me this [common knowledge] bullshit, cuz if u had to write down a list of episode order, than its not common knowledge now is it? )
Then when he sees "Haruhi 15+" he'll be confused DL them then bitch when some of the episodes are 'repeats' to him, then he'll bitch about having to go back and DL 8 etc, which I don't wanna hear from him, so calling "Haruhi Episode 8", Season 2 Episode 1 should give u no penalty/failure only nit-picky haruhi fans would claim that, and I bet a few of them are calling this episode 1 of the new season, so there,

Umm, if you read my comment you'll see that I never said anything regarding you, but only the subbers.

And if you saw the series like 3 years ago, you're probably not going to remember that Haruhi asked Kyon "Have I seen you before?" in episode one so there's no harm done in watching episodes 1~7, in fact, I think it's quite vital.

Or you can just tell your friend to read this. I know it's not common knowledge as you say, but it's something necessary to enjoy the new episodes.

again, that rant is about my friend and his views on the haruhi series, of course he won't remember 'that' line but he won't care, he just watches the series to get the basics, so come conventions etc, he's got some general info on it, but I am pretty sure if i told him, 'hey DL Haruhi 2009 Ep8' he'll say why, thus long explanation which is not worth it, since the haruhi series isn't up his usually anime watching alley, he doesn't want to bother re-watching or having to ask which episode are the 'new' ones, his memory sucks so just telling him won't help, calling it Haruhi 2009 is fine but can confuse others, look at Kanon and Kanon 2006, not a single episode is a repeat in total, just same similar events, different order etc. now noticed ur 'link' but he don't got time for fakku, or at least ability to visit often enough, i think he has 2 posts from motemote2, but he'll prob just ask me for the whole series once its done, and to save spare etc i am not gonna give him 28episodes 14 being stuff he's seen, just the 14 he hasn't (labeled as season 2 1-14) any more details would just confuse him, so plz stop being so nit picky about this, and just be glad u got moar haruhi.

You're right, so let's all just be quiet and enjoy the bliss that is Haruhi. Go check AniDB and see if I'm right or not.

On a side note, Coalguys and GG's subs are up. You can get the torrent here. Still the same crappy raw though. We'll get the 720p one in a few days.
