So, I had the curiosity of knowing who in the bloody hell invented manga, a kind of question very easy to awnser by many manga/anime lovers (I mean, how could you love something if you don't know where it comes from?).
Well, the awnser is very simple: Ozamu Tezuka. That could put an end to that, right? Well no, it turns out to be deeper.
For those who doesn't know who is this guy he has several nicknames such as "The Godfather of Anime" or "The Father of Manga", but if you still don't know who is he, well, he invented this:
He also (as some may know) created the not-so-popular character of Black Jack and Kimba the White Lion.
It turns out that all that inspiration that at the same time inspired other author to write their own manga (and subsequently "hentai") and anime, came from not other than Carl Bark's Scrooge McDuck!
Scrooge McDuck is that beloved character from Disney, that along with is nephew Donald and many other character have been in comics since 1947 and is the character that
has done more for science that any scientific at that time, also he
invented "Inception" 40 years early that Christofer Nolan,
inspired the whole intro of "Raiders of the Lost Arc",
invented the method to rise sunken ships from the bottom of the sea and to finally make justice for all this contributions, scientific from the Cornell University
named an asteroid on Barks honor. But thats not all, apparently he was the the main inspiration of Tezuka.
Tezuka's work basically invented manga after World War II witch in turns
invented the cartoon from anime
Tezuka himself says that he owes absolutely all of this to none other than Scrooge McDuck. Tezuka's entire artistic style -- including such trademarks as the overly large, cutesy eyes and small mouths -- can still be seen today as defining aspects of Japanese animation. His work became the basis for all manga, ever, and Tezuka has confirmed that the basis for his work was Carl Berk's Scrooge McDuck.
So that means that without characters like this:
We would not have characters like this:
The real shame is that the properties are owned by different, not entirely friendly companies, so the two artist's works will never meet in film or print. Well other than all those greeting cards Tezuka sent to Barks throughout his life, thanking him for the inspiration.
So the next time you go to a convention, instead of paying lots of money in an expensive cosplay, why don't you go dressed as the father that started all.
you can almost made a complete outfit combined.
