The word "noob" in manga.

I don't but I can relate. If someone puts in some random saying like 'you pulling my chain' or some other American saying, I flip out like crazy.

Well, sometimes phrases are used that would sound pretty silly if translated literally. So you have to use a phrase that retains the meaning, but flows better in English. Totally depends on the context though.

I think using the word noob in manga is pretty awkward though, I assume it doesn't revolve about gaming or anything sci-fi? I mean, the Japanese do have words like that of course, but I never saw that anywhere.

You gotta check the raws to see if it was a fault on the translator's part or not.

I agree with this, Noob is a dumb internet term not appropriate in manga.

Another thing that I notice very often is un-needed use of swearing in the subs of fan-sub anime. They take something as simple as "your an idiot" and go ahead and put something stupid like "You fucking son of a bitch!". That pisses me off.

Honestly I don't think I've ever even seen it in a manga before, it's annoying to hear irl and the term is just pretty stupid in general imo. Can't say that I rage at it but hearing someone actually use it is pretty annoying to me. Now how long until I'm called a noob for this comment?

I don't mind it being used in manga so long as it is not used excessively, the way some idiots use it in online games and such.

That's one of the reasons I'm learning Japanese; so I don't have to deal with stupid translations like that :P
