Finally got around to watching this.

I'm guessing they'll all end up happy somehow just not with the person they originally intended. It seems like that kind of show.

Not necessarily. IMO this will end with everyone accepting the main couple but smiling at the end of a show doesn't mean that it ended happily for a said character.

I demand a separate, alternate reality anime for Ami ! Preferably with a ton of lesbian smex, domina outfits and swim suits with detachable elements.

I agree in this entirely. Let's hope one of the directors is a big hentai addict and reads this.

That's funny. I was thinking that's how this'll end too. And yeah, I guess just because they're happy for their friends doesn't necessarily mean they're happy with their lives.
And I also thought it'd be conceivable if Minori ended up with Kitamura because their so similar in their strangeness. That's why I said "not with the person they originally intended."
And as for Ami, I like the idea of a lesbian sex-ridden spin-off show.

Minori's personality has not changed. Did you forget when she burst out telling Ryuuji what a horrible, arrogant person she was earlier? Her eccentricity is merely a mask, a facade. Her mask is slowly but surely cracking into pieces and then falling apart.

You bring up the idea of being affected by her home life. I don't think it is likely that it would explain her current emotional state, at least not directly. I'm thinking this kind of scenario: Minori's father is abusive. This would help explain how she initially tried to get Taiga and her father together, and why she despises him for abandoning Taiga. It could then be reasoned that her workaholic nature is to stay away from home for as long as possible. Her eccentric mask would be her attempt at appearing to everyone that she's happy, though due to her unstable emotional home life, her version of "happy" dips into the "weird" region. Her self-proclaimed arrogance could either be from the belief that if she can survive living with her father then she can live through anything, or it could be her attempt at hiding something darker of her personality.

Ami giving up on Ryuuji actually makes a lot of sense, she's a person with very realistic expectations. That's probably from working in the "adult" world.

Hmm are you sure she gave up on him? I got the feeling that she wanted Ryuji to give her another chance. Or that she wants to give it another shot. She was never clear about her feelings to Ryuji anyways and her playful nature didn't help at all.

However about what you said about Minorin I agree completely. I was also thinking along those lines. Though if that's the case why hasn't Taiga, who supposedly is Minori's best friend, told/done anything.

I'm eagerly awaiting the next episode. I really want to know what's gonna happen. Minori is gonna show up obviously but I still don't know if Takasu will be waiting or not or how Taiga will react when she sees Ryuji and Minori together.

Remember Taiga had two pictures in her little notebook. One was Kitamura's and her's picture. The other one was... Obviously it was either a Minori//Takasu picture or a Takasu picture alone. My guess is that Taiga had a Takasu picture right next to Kitamura's.

Though I don't feel strong about a Taiga/Ryuji matchup it's kind of expected. I'd feel much more happy with a Ami/Ryuji matchup but that's just me.

Well, I read her saying "Then maybe you could give me another chance" as implying that she had a chance once, but lost it. Her phrasing also made me think that she felt she wouldn't have anymore chances. In hindsight, maybe saying "she gave up" wasn't quite correct.

I meant change in her attitude I guess. Either way, I like her better when she's goofy.
And I was just guessing that her home life would have a negative affect because she's way too depressed for it just to be about liking Ryuuji. And that depression seems to have been there for quite some time. That's all I meant.

I was just commenting on your "It seems too sudden" phrase, and theorizing on Minori's possible home life. Perhaps I went on a tangent.

That little private Chat between Takasu and Minori, while they were fixing the Star, really got me thinking.



It´s pretty mutch obvious they are not only talking about the broken Christmas Star, but also about their relationship. But I still can`t see what has been "broken". Takasu kind of already confessed to Minorin back in the Beachhouse Ep. but wasn`t really turned down by her. At least she told him she is unsure about her own feelings. Maybe, like it was already mentioned above, something else is troubeling her.
Im pretty curious about, if Minorin will show up on the Christmas Party or not.

Ami surprised me a little bit, it was clear that she had an crush on Takasu, but i didn`t know it was that serious.

Oh man i see a lot of Drama upcoming.
Damn, can`t they all get together with Takasu? Maybe we should clone him ^^

Oh, it's definitely serious and I highly doubt she's given up on him yet. The question is - will she eventually 'kill' her feelings knowing that they won't ever reach their target or will she snap ? As much as I admire Ami for being the most adult and perceptive among the main cast I still hope for the latter.

BTW - something that hit me after re-watching the ep. I seem to have developed a whole new amount of sympathy for Taiga. What seemed to be an abrupt change of character 2 eps ago is turning up to be a very nice bonus in her depth. The whole catholic school and true feelings behind the Santa facade really made me think more of her. To commemorate this moment I give you a cute Taiga image :
