I don't really have a specific question, but I just found out that the author for Toriko once was arrested for paying an underaged girl to do lewd stuff to him. I guess what fascinates me most is how he still has a career, although I don't really care about what he did, I would imagine that managers and CEO's running Shonen Jump wouldn't let a "pedophile" create a manga for them, are the Japanese people always this chill or is it because Sex with minors is not that big of a crime, I mean obviously he isn't a bad person, it's not like he killed someone, but I would imagine that a magazine aimed at kids wouldn't have a dude with a record of paying kids for sex be one of their mascots. It's just another topic peering and questioning the mentality of the japanese people.
I would imagine there would be a big outrage in America by fat pissed off mothers if say a popular children's author was written by a NAMBLA member.
