Watching Anime OP's/ED's

Out of curiosity I start asking in here how many of you actually watch the OP's and ED's in Animes??
I think some of you just watch it like once or twice and then skip it to finally enjoy the anime or even skip it completely.


Well I am one otaku who actually watches the OP every single time (even when it sucks) since I kinda enjoy watching them and also might discover some new Singles or good artists.
As for ED's I only watch them once and that's it expect they're good like K-ON!^^.

i can't say i watched it every single time, but quite often, yeah. maybe because i wanted to listen to some random song...and yeah, like you said, finding some new singles. for those i really liked, i don't watch the tv size. i just spam them in my mp3...

Depends on the song, if it's any good, i'll watch it till the end and then hunt down the mp3. And if i don't like it, meh.

For me I'll usually watch them once or twice to see if I like them. If I do like them I watch them every time and youtube them when I'm bored. I'm actually extremely obsessed with the Eden of the East ED. I downloaded the single and I can't listen to it enough, and the actual ED video for the anime is so cool.

Never, maybe sometime for a good one.

I prepared a shortcut to forward at 1 minute 28 secs afterward, and of course skip the ending. This is because i always watch it with my friend or my family.

I watch it once, OP/ED and the next time I completely skip regardless if I like it or not. thats 3 mins worth of time that can be spent to do something else.

i will watch it for the first time n if they not interesting definetly wil skip it but until now fulmetall alchemist op n ed that i wacth it over n over

Watching anime never feels complete without them. Regardless of my liking, I've never felt the need to skip on any of them (only with a few exemptions). Either way, I've never considered those 3+ minutes a waste of time. Some ED sequences even have the next episode previews inserted/included with them (e.g. Skip Beat, Shion no Ou, Honey&Clover, Nodame Cantabile). They also provide viewers with a particular feeling, may it be of anticipation, excitement, tension-builder, relaxation, etc. depending on their respective theme song/music. I would even find myself singing along with the songs that I really like (mostly of male singers/vocalists only). :D

There are some awesome OPs/EDs out there which I was able to enjoy even after watching the whole series/season and to which I tend to get back from time to time. Those are rare however.
As for the remaining majority - I always listen to the complete set a few times and then usually begin skipping. EDs are more likely of getting omitted faster in my case.

I watch them as a sort of "foreplay". I really like those cool ones that stay in your head all day, and you have to hear it as soon as you get home. ^^

You gotta be careful with some anime, because the show might not end after the ED. While I never watch previews for the next episode, sometimes there is a little extra bit that you could miss.

I love watching the anime op/ed's, there really good when they have a great song in them, one good example would be K-on! I'm completely hooked on it at the moment. There are even times where because I liked it so much that I would just dl the song or just watch the op/ed's themselves.

that right there nano desu, I watchem 99.98% of the time, only time I skipped some was maybe when I was re-watching the series/episode I just can't enjoy the episode without it, some times I look forward to what OP/ED they'll use in the next episode like in Ef: A tale of memories/melodies, a personal fav of mine nano desu

I'll watch the OP of a show every time, unless it really, really annoys me, at which point I'll skip it. I rarely watch an ED more than once, unless it is something awesome like Basquash's, or Hatsukoi Limited's.

I usually like to know the ED's of a show.

Pretty much this. It depends on if I like it. Like I never skipped a Lucky Star opening. :P I also make sure to watch an opening at least once.

Lol anyone else find Death Note's 2nd op a bit odd?

It depends if I like the OP or not. For all animes I watch it the first time and if it's so so, I skip it afterwards. If I like the OP/ED then I'll watch it everytime. One example for me would be Hakanaku mo Towa no Kanashi by UVERworld, the OP 1 for Gundam 00 S2. That one I would watch everytime.
