Outlaw Star and Gundam Wing were the big ones that drew me in but the others back in the day that I LOVED were New Dominion Tank Police and You're Under Arrest! (Anything cyberpunk was pretty much awesome and it made a bit of a change from my usual watches of The Smurfs and Scooby-Doo)
While not my first anime, Zoids Shin Seiki/Zero was the turning point where I stopped casually watching anime and it started becoming habitual. Up until that point, even though I knew what anime was, I think I still thought of them as nothing more than cartoons with some kind of niche style; certainly nothing more specific than that.
Watched animes since I was little, but the ones I think I really like is Inuyasha and Samurai X (Rorouni Kenshin), which is like the best animes when I was little.
[font=verdana][color=green]Death Note was the first anime that told me to continue watching anime. I had watched Code Geass before it, but it took Death Note to tell me to watch more anime. It was the dealmaker.
Minami-ke, I watched it over and over again. I just love Chiaki's attitude towards everyone (bakayarous) and everything, and how she worships her Haruka-nee sama. It still remains as one of my favourites.
Digimon. First anime (which at the time didn't know it was anime) that I truly cherish a lot. Too bad that I don't own any physical media from that show. ;=;
although it wasn't the first anime i saw. the first one i really liked was Naruto. i still really like Naruto i am completely up to date with the series. i don't understand why so many people dis on it. The only problem i see with it is that a bunch of retarted 12 year olds watch it and then start trying to act like ninjas which just brings disgrace onto the whole series. The series it self isn't bad its just the little kids that watch it
