This is a question I've been wondering about lately. Why do we enjoy anime? Well, I enjoy it because it can do what live action can't. The possibilities are limitless to what you can do with animation. But that's not the only reason. Take shows such as Lucky Star or Hidamari Sketch. Those wouldn't be to hard to create a live action counterpart, but there's no way I'd watch it. What makes it so much more appealing in animation than in live action?
I'd like to hear some of your guys' opinion on this. I love anime to death, but sometimes I just don't know why.
We like people. We like cartoons. Anime contains both those things. It's visually appealing. It digs into our fantasies. There are so many genres and stories to enjoy. Plus, if you're feeling it you can just walk to the hentai section and stay there for a while.
Because they have better plots than most of the stuff that come out on television. Also because there is anime for pretty much any age, unlike most cartoons which are mainly for children.

I enjoy it as casual watcher .. just for relaxing
There are a lot of anime that focused on slice of life ..
that's what i prefer ...
the ones which comment on world/country's state sarcastically,
the ones which state its opinion about humanity,
the ones which teach us about moral indirectly .. etc etc
Anime teaches me a lot .. that's why i enjoy it ..

Why do you enjoy anime? A pretty general question, similar to why do you like food, or maybe why do you like movies or TV would be closer. It's so general in fact, it is hard to answer.
In TV, movies, books or anime I like good stories and good story telling. I do enjoy a lot of anime, but there are also a multitude of series I have not, and never will, watch - they are either aimed at a different audience or simply deal with subjects or genre not to my liking. For me, what makes anime more appealing than most western animation is attitude - in Japan anime is seen as a method of story telling, while in the west animation is seen almost as a genre unto its self. As a result, there is a much wider and varied body of work with anime.
For me, anime is my inspiration. If i had a bad day at work or something not working out for me i could just open my laptop and watched anime and laugh it out to my hearts content.Yeah i know, i could not in my wildest dreams drive a gundam, have magical powers or surrounded by bishoujou or bishonen. But they inspire me to do better at everything i do and not giving up. That is why i enjoy anime.
