Too much of a good thing

When the subscription started I was hyped, and since then I have been reading every single chapter that has come out whether I liked it or not. But over time I've began to notice that I don't relish it as much as I used to, and I'm starting to worry that I'm suffering from burnout.

Basically, burnout is when your hobby starts feeling like a job. You're no longer doing it because you want to but becaue you feel like you have to. Eventually this gets to a point where what was originally supposed to be fun becomes a chore, and everything just looks the same. At worst case it could mean the end of your hobby. This tends to happen if you overconsume and spend a lot of time delving into things that you normally don't find interesting.

I've began to feel this way, and last night I realised that something needs to be done. I was reading one of the chapters and just felt frustrated, then when I got to a chapter that would normally get me going I felt nothing.

Experts on this matter have said that the best thing to do is to either take a break, or to stop oversonsuming and just go for the things you find interesting. I've thought about this but I've been hestitant because I don't want to miss anything, but at the same time I wouldn't want to become so burned out that I stop being a hentai fan altogether.

What do you think, should I take a break?

I think you're giving this too much thought personally, just take a break. It's not like the subscriptions are going anywhere and you can sign up whenever if you choose not to for a month or two. Shouldn't feel like you're forcing a hobby. I don't game all that much atm so I don't buy any new games or stations, I just do what I want with it all, not a big deal.

Edit: you know Jake brought up a good point in another thread, if you feel like you're burned out instead of unsubscribing why not look at it as you are helping out fakku with future content? I know I don't read 100% of the subscriptions on here when they first release. I read them in spurts and I don't feel the need to be perfect about it, but regardless if I read them or not, I don't mind paying the monthly fee since I know this will only help fakku further release more stuff in the future. I know not everyone can do this, but this is something I don't mind investing in to see where things go.

I simply do not feel that $12.95 is worth it. Canceled my membership and do not plan to renew it.

What can we do to improve it? We want everyone to be happy with their subscription

I personally feel that the amount of content released daily is not enough to justify $12.95 a month. If the fee was around 7-8 dollars a month I'd gladly pay that.

Here is a question for you. Have any plans to add video content into the subscription? If so, that would change my stance on paying $13 a month.

I think taking a break would be best. Heres the good thing about taking a break from it. The content will still be here when you get back. So its not like you'll lose anything if you stop reading. Cause you can just pick it up again later.

Pretty much this. You could sort of call it gaming the system as subscribing later in the game rewards you with more content for less than what early adopters paid. For that reason I think people who subbed longer ought to be rewarded, but I don't know how. That said, offering more and more content without any extra charge is a pretty cool thing.

Of course you are going to feel burned out when you do nothing but read hentai all the damn time and jerk off. Imagine eating your favorite food every single day, how long would it take before you start to hate your favorite food. I spent over 5 years playing WoW every single day for 10-12 hours straight. I got so burned out from that game that I can't look at it with out feeling bored, but it's entirely my own fault since I didn't pace myself what so ever. This is why I have multiple hobbies and rotate which one I'm currently concentrating on.

My own hobbies include, gaming, reading novels, reading comics/manga, astronomy, watching documentaries, cars and motorcycles, camping, mountain biking, buying useful gadgets, video editing, collecting music, collecting movies and TV shows, hentai, anime, art, and various other things too.

Basically I feel you need more things to do with your life, becoming too obsessed with one hobby is not good for you. Also Jacob I feel the price is just right for the quality of the content.

I'm sorry you feel that way, but if you don't think you're getting the value for your buck then nothing can be done about that. Keep in mind that you are getting 2 magazine's worth of hentai a month, each magazine costs over 6 dollars each in Japan. On top of that you have a staff working full time to translate and reproduce it for an English audience. uncensored, as well as pay the licensing fees and the original creators.

We wish we could offer it at a cheaper price, but this is really as cheap as we can currently go. This is the industry price to produce this much material.

I know the feeling. I haven't read a non fakku hentai in a month. I don't even play with Ricard to 2d.

I can't speak for everyone but you guys have done such an incredible job so far on what you've released. I tell Jake and Mike this all the time, but I hope the rest of the staff knows just how amazing the work they do is on here. I think even if I do sometimes get in a rut with viewing people fucking (very rarely though, hentai is art to me and I never get tired of art), I can see all of the hard work that is put into translating, cleaning, editing, etc.

In all seriousness I can understand it, we've released 150 chapters in the first month. If you read all of them that's about 5 fap sessions per day, that would tire anyone out. We will be slowly down releases though to 40-50 chapters a month, which is a much more reasonable 1.66666 (repeating of course) faps per day.

I don't have any complaints about the price or the quality of the releases. I love your work and I will continue to support it, as well as the artists in Japan.

One thing that helps to keep me going are the previews you put up for every new magazine. I'm excited to read the upcoming Kito Sakeru chapter, as well as the new Bosshi chapter, and I'm curious about what Range Murata has contributed.

I don't want to know how you came to do the math for that lol, but I will say glad to be a woman, being tied down to numbers sounds brutal :/

Jacob is there any chance that we gold members could get together in a thread and come up with ideas for hentai manga we'd like to read. Like stories, scenarios and characters etc. And after having voted for our favourite perhaps there is some hentai artist colleborating with Fakku who would be interested in the fans ideas and help us to bring them to life with his/her skill. This would be awesome.

Kinda got the idea from Brazzers (normal porn) who have a similar thing where subscribers can write their own scripts and then pick their favourite pornstars to star in them. Brazzers then pick their favourites and dreams become reality! However, they didn't like my idea... :(
