A Kon?

[size=12]This will be my first con, i'm taking my brother since he loves anime (im a dedicated closest anime fan). Im taking my gf as well because she wants to dress up as a sailor moon character. But since im new to this can i get some tips from you guys?

We are going on the last day since that is all i can afford. But like whats the best time to arrive there? Should i eat there or some where else? I know they have alot of events through the days so am i allowed to bring a back pack in? Is there alot of people that cosplay? Have you been to this event and how was it? do's and donts?

And yes i went to the website, but i want personal experience so i can make the best of this. Due to the fact that this year could have over 18k attending i just dont want to walk in with my thumb up my ass. I want to be able to make the best of this trip since im paying for every thing ;P

wellll it would be helpful if you said WHICH con, but i went to my first con last year :D idk about your con, but mine (connecticon) let me bring a backpack, i ate after the con (hungry as hell, but i jammed in a lot of quality time), and yes, there are a LOT of cosplayers. Also, be prepared to spend money.... a LOT of it.
I went on the last day of my conn too, and i got the sense that they were trying to rap it up quickly. I had to run around all over the place trying to find all the good stuff as quickly as possible. I would recommend finding the dealer's room first, because that is where the most people will be, including cosplayers.

*Do's*: Attend lots of the panels, try the awesome imported goods, and try looking for famous people. I got my program book signed by Scott Ramsoomir! (VG Cats).
*Dont's*: Let people be creepy towards your girlfriend in the sailor moon costume, spend all your money too fast or in the same place, and dont be afraid to talk to the cosplayers. I talked to an in-character Duke Nukem about Duke Nukem Forever (before gearbox picked it up).

@940: Since you are coming in sunday [the shortest day] it'd be best to come in the early morning [or the night before if possible]. There will be some people still in cosplay but you'd rarely get to see the more out-there stuff that people show off friday and saturday. Most of the best deal in the dealers room are gone, however if you are lucky some dealers start cutting down prices for their merch. In general Sunday is a tough day imo. You'll be spending more time running around and less just enjoying the con.

I suggest eating somewhere else then coming to the con, its gets a bit packed at times in the food courts and I highly doubt you'd want to grab a ride to a outside resturant [too far imo].

Bring a bag, it dangerous to go alone. Seriously, it'll be extremely useful to you on the floor. The previous years there was a booth that gave away free shirts and movie posters. Ever since my first con I've always had a con bag.

Yeah thanks guys, i meant to say Saturaday since it seems like more goes on that day. But yeah i appreciate it, im prolly going to go as mugen from Samurai champloo. I should have like 200 to spend, but its more for the experience and my brother more than anything.
