One lame thing about Alaska, we only have two conventions a year. It's this weekend and I'm pretty psyched, though it's not that big or very professionally done at all. I suppose I gotta take what I can get lol.

Anyone else have experience with small time conventions?
September 27, 2008-Day One
Today was a good day ^_^ got up way too early and showed up hours before the door opened, also drank way too much Monster and there weren't enough bathrooms, go figure. Once I finally got in around 11am and emptied my bladder I got to see an awesome Taiko performance and was then off to see the wonders of the convention.
Now, in the back of my mind I was hoping to find some hentai, but was really not expecting anything since this had a more family oriented affair. Thank the primes that asians are crazy :D, i managed to find a bin full of doujin, and i ended up buying $100+ worth of it. Money well spent indeed.
The rest of the day consisted of a trip to a nearby mall for food with my cosplaying brother(dressed as a wavemaster from .hack), a Soul Caliber tournament I nearly won :?, the general conversations and merriments with people of similar interests and to top it all off, a concert by none other than Vic Mignogna, the voice of Edward Elric (awesome dude, music wasn't half bad either XD).
I managed to hold out on buying custom art until tomorrow but broke down and bought a few Revoltech Fraulein figures (Rin and Rei). I'm out to get some sleep as I do it all again tomorrow. See ya then XD
September 28, 2008-Day Two
Today was a lot more laid back than yesterday. There were less people early on, but it was nice for a Sunday morning. I managed to drag two more of my friends with me and we hung out in the game room, taking turns beating the crap out of each other on Marvel vs. Capcom 2(WANT). After awhile, people started showing up and a couple of us decided to head up the the Vendor's Row since they had just finished setting up. Awesome deals on DVDs, got 9 for $40(School Rumble, Blackblood Brothers, Soultaker, Shuffle, Genshiken...etc), also...found more doujin i missed yesterday lol...
SMASH BROS! There was a tournament for Brawl, I was pretty bored at first, fighting against complete novices. I even got to triple-chain taunt while they were still on screen, actually died a couple times cause i was yawning and they got a lucky shot in. I ended up making it to the semi-finals match...but only managed to grab fourth...the other guys were in a class above mine... Also, 2/3 of them were total douchebags, serious assholes. W/e, I had fun and they were freaking out, just glad I enjoyed myself.
To be honest, not a whole lot else went on. After the tournament I headed back to the Vendor's Row to pick up some more art, I love custom art. Also Vic Mignogna(voice of Ed Elric, Fullmetal Alchemist) and Colleen Clinkenbeard(director for Fullmetal Alchemist as well as the voices of Rose Thomas and Riza Hawkeye, also Luffy from One Piece) had a Q&A session, afterwards I managed to get both of them to sign a FMA #1 manga for me, pretty excellent if I do say so myself.
At the end of the convention they had a rave complete with Para-Para beats and some awesome J-Pop riffs, but I didn't get to stay for the whole thing as I got called into work...lame.
Alas, the end to a wonderful convention. Surely not the best there ever was, but it's the best we have in Alaska. Heh, the end.

On the first day, my brother thought it would be a good idea to use most of the memory card on a single skit...so I'll load that and put it here when I get to a better computer, he also got a really short one he insists on listening to...all the frickin time. Here's that one, be back with the other later.
