Trying to turn this into a relatively serious discussion:
I kind of see both sides of the issue. I don't want to see 400-pound people dressing up as Ed from FMA, but at the same time, if only good-looking people or people who really looked like the characters cosplayed, then there'd only be a handful of cosplayers at any convention.
