How much do you expect to spend at conventions?

Usually around 80/90 euros, which is about 120/130 dollars I think with the current exchange rate. Gotta have my stuff.

i had to go dirt cheap at AX but usualy its 500-700ish spent 650 something at anime Boston this year

I spent like near $200 dollars between food and items at AX.

I usually go for spending around 300$ in Otakon's dealers room. I might spend a bit more this year though since I'm the organizer for a group of 20 going down to Otakon and I'm getting some dollars out of everyone coming for organization purposes. Can't wait for it in two weeks. If I see shiny things I can't get away from I might go up to 400$.

i spent 50 dollars at the last one cause thats all i had on me... prolly wouldve spent the last option if id brought all my money. wouldn't have liked it after though :(

I don't spend more then 50 dollar at a convention... 100 if it's far away thou. I worked at my last convention so I wouldn't have to pay. I got food as well. So i didn't spend over 20 dollar...^^' But i'm located in sweden and there are conventens every week here so I have to keep my limits if I want to go to a few.

For a hotel, I'd spend at least 200 bucks. For things that I want to buy, around 100 bucks. NYCC had a lot of interesting shit that I would've love to buy, but they were seriously overpriced.

(FYI I'll be referring to Otakon) Since my friends are a bunch of bums, I spend roughly $600 in 2010, but then dropped down to $400 in 2011. 2010 one of my friends bailed altogether on paying, and I got screwed over. Last year, I went alone for a day which jacked up the price a bit, but my friend helped pay for Saturday so it wasn't so bad. This may sound a lot but Otakon is pricey (Baltimore hotel rates are stupid expensive, even with a "discount")... I save up a lot though so I never got in the red for spending a lot.

I just say save up, especially if you know the convention is huge. Don't pay high prices for stuff that you KNOW you can get for cheaper. And as always, try to bargain with the dealers, especially on the last day of the con.

Goin' to my first con next month and I'm takin' about 150USD, but some of that is for the food. I'm thinking about eating only twice during the con and spendin' the rest on pleasure.

The most I've ever spent at a con was 600USD, but nowadays, outside of the money I spend on the hotel, travel, and food, I don't find myself spending more that $100 unless I find something expensive I have to have (consol, rare game, etc.)

Its easy to spend $$ at a con, so try to set a personal limit if you can. I would recommend $100-200.

It depends on the convention.
For example, I recently went to ANEXT, which is a medium sized con. I only spent about $160 between gas money, ticket, food, etc. I also didn't have to pay for a hotel, so that helped.
However, for Otakon coming up, I need to pay $150 for the room and $70 for the ticket itself. Then I need to buy and put together all my cosplay stuff (I've spent $150 on wigs and make up supplies so far). And then I need at least $100 for food and merchandise.

If you cosplay, expect to be throwing away a lot more of your money. It's not a cheap hobby.
But if you're just attending, a big convention like that will cost you $300-$400 easily.

Wow...people spend that much? I know this girl I went to my last con with years ago brought 500 but I think she split it with her cousin...Shit I only brought like less then hundred from mah poorness. Che. I recall buying pocky,ramene (the drink),choker and leash,catears and some posters. /posters are gone I moved and left them cause they were torn. I need to go to a new con and get some new ones and stuffs D:
