A bunch of the forums dont have mods

Pardon my ignorance, but why dont a bunch of the forums have mods? Just wondering, but not only do most of the specific forums not have mods, but I dont think theres one for serious discussion either.

Is it just because they arent very active, so its not necessary?

There are global mod's that moderate the other sections. The main reason for a lack of mods is the amount of people needed if ever section had a mod then there would be just to much staff for Jacob to give responsibility too.

Too much room for problems in employing mass amounts of staff would seem to be the main problem.

What if you were to devy up the sections over the mod's? What would be the point in not just making them Global if they are already moderating 10 sections?


As for SD it used to have a Mod Hibia heres a thread about it I mean it was on the first page that's just baby stuff right there make it easy on you heres Jacobs opinion on it.

At the moment, I do not believe we need more moderators.

Maybe not MORE moderators per se, but ACTIVE moderators. I haven't seen Mike and Gambler in a while... I miss them.

Mike hasn't been on in 5 months and Gambler hasn't been on in a month. Someone should remedy that.

But yeah, I think we at least need a mod for Video Games, it's pretty popular compared to the other specific threads.

No we don't. I spend most of my time on the forums in Video Games.

I've noticed that the section-specific moderators are people who post a lot in those sections. For example, Klown became a mod of the Visual Novels Upload section because he is basically the king of the place, having uploaded most of the stuff there. He also became the mod of the section because it needed a lot of moderation.

I assume that there will only be a new mod when 1) a section shows that it needs a lot of moderation, 2) a current mod does not spend a lot of time there, and 3) there is a user that posts there a lot that stands above the rest and is trustworthy.

A lot of sections don't need mods because they don't fit all three of those requirements. Hell, I think many sections don't even meet two of the requirements. But if the Cosplay section suddenly became very active, and a lot of reports came from the section, I'm sure something would be done.

I think one in the "Manga, doujinshi and video discussion" section might be a good idea. A lot of users confuse that section with the request section.

Just for the record, if there is ever a need for a mod in Specific Anime Series (which I doubt) I vote hermit.

No, he's the mod for Visual Novels, Doujin Soft, and Eroge.
