Artist page idea/suggestion

Was just thinking about how to implement all the new tagging features, and came up with an idea.

Why not, on each artist's page, have a small graphic or text box that displays the tags (maybe 3?) most often found in their work? The information could be actively drawn from the tag data for each manga under an author's name.
For example, Gunma's common tags would probably be harem, group, and schoolgirl. etc...

This way, people looking for new authors to read would get a general overview of an author's genre/plot/style habits, and decide whether that artist's style would be right for their personal tastes.

Sounds good, but slightly complex coding you are talking about there. Nothing major, but certainly there are plenty of other things on Fakku that really need to be fixed and or accomplished before this gets bumped up high on whatever imaginary list exists.

Would be nice. Stuff implemented like that might actually make me use Fakku for my hentai source, short of lolicon that is.

Exactly. People are always posting in the Requests thread for recommendations in certain genres, so this could be a useful feature.

Maybe even put a list of authors on tag pages; maybe the top few authors who have the most manga tagged with a certain tag could be listed?

I really like this idea and once we finish tagging everything we'll see about adding it. It would be a lot of work to write up stuff for every artist on the site, but definitely something I want to do.

Btw, is there any way I can, while looking for manga to tag, bring up a list of only all the manga that DON'T have tags yet?

So I'm thinking such pages could also include information on where to legally/physically purchase the artist's work (if possible), or at minimum a link to their website/blog/etc.

That way they get some exposure and legitimate "hits" instead of being isolated to Fakku fame.
