When looking at new replies regarding this subject, I just realized I never really did explain what I meant by the image splicing when it comes to using codes in signatures.
For example, I can't use my MAL signature on Fakku because it is customized with the MAL updater signature. It requires that I splice my signature around the MAL updater in order for me to make my signature within the confines of BBCode.
Because of all of the splices, the code becomes rather large. Usually, larger than what services like TinyURL can counter.
More specifically:
This is a screencap of my signature, but in reality it's divided into five different, spliced images.
Top section:
Left section:
Center section (MAL Updater):
Right section:
Bottom section:
So in the end, the code looks like this:
[code:1]
[/code:1]
That is 466 characters. Most of those URL-shortening services wouldn't help much, especially if I ever made a signature that was more complex.
Anyway, just thought I'd bring up the specifics of what I meant a few months ago.
